The dark violet and chrome Revelation Solo by MXL is a fixed-cardioid pattern tube studio microphone and is useful for capturing sound in critical applications. It features an EF86 pentode tube, a 32mm gold-sputtered 6-micron diaphragm, and a balanced transformer output. Featuring a -10 dB pad, the microphone can be used in very loud sonic environments without significant distortion. It comes with a shockmount to help decouple the microphone from a stand and to minimize floor noise as well as vibrations from people handling the mic.
The power supply unit has a phase switch that allows you to reverse the polarity of the microphone signal by 180° to prevent phase issues when recording with multiple microphones. The power supply is built with a ground-lift switch that helps eliminate ground-loop hum when electronic devices improperly share a common ground. The power supply has a bass roll-off switch to reduce the bass-proximity effect. This supply is switchable between 110 and 220 VAC.
In addition to a shockmount, the Revelation Solo tube microphone comes with a 15' 7-pin Mogami cable, 15' XLR Mogami microphone cable, aluminum flight case and a cleaning cloth.
