Have they resolved the problem with the plastic of the holder breaking down with Age? My old one is completely sticky and gross now, and I don’t want to buy another one if it will just get all sticky in time.
The new holder doesn't have issues.

Can I use this brush without the motorized ...
Can I use this brush without the motorized holder? I read that an alternative is to blow on it with a bulb blower to build the static charge up that way.
If you wanted to use a blower on this brush, you could do that and use the brush without the motorized base. But you would be better off with a sensor brush that doesn't use a motorized base.

Why not just use this instead of the much more expensive version? Light? Size? Aren't these easily worked around?
