Designed for miking kick drums or guitar amplifier cabinets in both studio and live applications, the black MS-5340 Kick Drum/Guitar Amp Microphone Stand with Boom from Auray is also ideal for podcasting applications and provides sturdy operation thanks to its steel construction and weighted square base with 5 rubber non-slip feet. Its telescoping shaft provides height adjustment between 9.5 and 14.3", while its adjustable boom is 19.5" in length, both adding to the versatility of placement options the stand provides. The stand is compatible with standard 5/8"-27 threaded mic clips and mounts, and includes a cable guide to help reduce cable clutter.

Auray MS-5340 Reviews
sturdy stand but boom is useless
with my rode mics, if I extend the boom only 1/4 of the way out, it tips over like crazy. had to use sand bags on the job.
I was disappointed with this mic stand because if you are not really careful how you position it, it will tip over. I was so grateful my mic didn't break when it fell but it literally fell off my desk with no one around an hour after I left my desk.
Good for me to keep the mic and stand away from interference.
It works fine
I'm giving this 4 stars because the stand works fine but it is a bit tall for me.
Needs a wider base...
The build quality on this thing is excellent. It's one flaw is that the base is too narrow, meaning most mics are too heavy to be positioned anywhere but over the front of the base. Still, it's cheaper than a Rode PSA1.
Nice mic stand
The MS-5340 mic stand is everything I expected. I am using on a desktop with AT2020 mic. I wanted a mic stand without springs. It has reasonable adjustment range. It could also be used for kick drum mic. The build quality is good. About the only issue was the heavy base was not secured well for shipment but nothing was damaged during shipment.
Excellent for drum mics
These are an excellent, well made solution I use for placing mics on snare, kick and floor tom drums. Heavy, solid base with footprint about the size of a postcard.
Great Option for the Price
I bought 4 of these stands to use in a podcasting setup. Their quality is not the best, but for the price I am not complaining. These stands are great for a set and forget senario, but if I were going to be adjusting the microphone a lot I may look at something else.
