This ikan Elite Teleprompter Kit is a 15mm rod-based system with a tablet mount supporting any common-style 7.5 to 10.5" tablets. The teleprompter features a 30/70 beamsplitter that reflects the scrolling text from the tablet back at the onscreen talent, while allowing for a direct-to-camera, direct eyeline effect. The teleprompter can be disassembled and the hood assembly collapsed for compact storage and transport, making this system suitable for both in-studio and field use. The camera baseplate includes a riser that allows the teleprompter to adapt to a variety of cameras from DSLRs to larger form models. Being that this is a rod-based system, this prompter is also expandable with longer rods (sold separately) to support ENG cameras. Furthermore, the hood and glass can be removed to allow you to attach 15mm rod accessories.

If you plan on traveling with this in any way I would not recommend it. This is made to live in a studio and never be taken apart at all. I used a similar one by also by ikan and with a similar name that could fold and thought that that was what I was getting. Also it seems like the way the glass fits is not thought out. It seems like it should be reversed from how the instructions tell you to put it together.

This is a really easy to read teleprompter. I've been in newscasting for 20 years, and have used a variety of prompters, but I find this one extremely user-friendly. The only trouble we have had has been with the remote. It seems to stick a little bit. But other than that, I do recommend this equipment!

Yes, you could use this Teleprompter with a tripod that has a 502HD head. The 502HD has a 15.4 pound load capacity. This prompter weighs 6.7 pounds before adding an iPad and Camera, so you have plenty of room left to add those. The Prompter has standard tripod connections under it.

My tablet is a Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 . Will that extra .2 prevent it from fitting properly on tablet platform?

The PT-ELITE-UL supports tablets up to 9 x 12 in. The Galaxy Note Pro 12.2s dimensions are 11.64 x 8.03 so it is within the dimensions and should fit no problem. This because the screen size is measured diagonally, which is of course longer than the length and width.

Does this come with a carrying case?

You can lay the components on a table and figure how built up you wish to transport it. Then measure the layout figuring 3' of padding around the most delicate parts. Come back to us with those dimensions and we can get you a hard or soft case for it.

Yes, you can use the Sony FS700 on this Teleprompter. The camera baseplate includes a riser that allows the teleprompter to adapt to a variety of cameras from DSLRs to larger form models such as the FS700.

Since the tablet is not included in the package, this would depend on the prompter app you are using. Most professional prompter apps will have a mirror function.
