Works Great...Until It Doesn't

I have to replace these things pretty much twice a year. They work great, but eventually the pieces start to separate as a screw gets loose. No problem, right? Just tighten the screw. Except you can't get to the dang screw. I even bought a special 90° screwdriver but once that screw falls out, which it did once I started fiddling with it, it's game over. It's literally in the most absolutely inconvenient place. We run 7 cameras at $20/ea, It's not worth it anymore to buy them.

great shockmount but shoe connector seems rectanglar

great shockmount . works almost flawlessly with a deity s mic 3 with a furry cover doing handhelds . it cannot be mounted however in 2 out of four positions because the shoe connection is rectangular and not square . it cannot thus be used in some arrangements of which require the shockmount to be pointed in some directions because of less available space on some rigs . one may find it hard to rotate the position of this mount in 90 degree increments

question

What size is the thread on this attachment?
Asked by: Anonymous
I can confirm that there is a 1/4-20 thread on the bottom, made of brass (or a brassy-looking metal). I would not put much strain on it, though, as it's surrounded by plastic. Hard, durable plastic, but plastic nonetheless.

question

Can you use this with Sennheiser me66/k6 mic?
Asked by: AL
The Sennheiser MZS 600 shock mount is designed for the MKE600. The ME66/k6 is 2.5mm bigger in diameter than the mke600. It may be tight fit. The Sennheiser MZSK6 is a shock mount designed specifically for K6 microphones, but at this price-point, I would probably go with a different shockmount. Please consider the Rycote Universal Shotgun Mount (B&H# RYUSGM) as it is a better investment.

Can this work with any shotgun mic? Thank you.

Can this work with any shotgun mic? Thank you.
Asked by: Augustine
The Sennheiser MZS 600 Shockmount for MKE 600 Microphone is not a universal mount but rather made specifically for the Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone. The MKE 600 has a 20mm diameter which should be considered if attempting to use the MZS 600 with other microphones.

question

Can I use it with the Rode Video Micro?
Asked by: Ricardo T.
I actually do. I do run and gun, and the delicate mount that came with the VideoMicro did not hold up to repeated transport so I started using this which I usually use for my MKE600. The VideoMicro mic cylinder fits tightly - I just make sure to slide it a bit forward so there’s still enough room to slide the dead cat on. You’ll have to angle the cable connector upward rather than downward (as the Micro is not long enough to extend past the end of the mount the way I use it), but I’ve had no problem reaching the audio port on my GH5. Not really meant for it but totally works and is much simple and solid than the included mount.

Can I attach this to Impact Combo Boom Stand B&H ...

Can I attach this to Impact Combo Boom Stand B&H #IMLSCB6 ? Or would a different kind of mount be better for a boom pole?
Asked by: Mute
Yes you can screw the MZS 600 Shockmount onto the 1/4 20 side of the spigot included on the end of the boom of the IMLSCB6 Impact stand to the bottom of the MZS 600 Shockmount and then insert both into the stand, tightening the knob on the stand to secure the spigot to the stand..

Would this work with the Sennheiser MKH-416?
Asked by: Nicolas
The Sennheiser MZS 600 Shockmount is designed specifically for use with the MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone. The MKE 600 has a diameter of 20mm and the Sennheiser MKH 416 has a diameter of 19mm. You may be able to use it, possibly with a rubber O-ring, if needed to tighten the fit.
