Canon iX6820 reviews

PIXMA iX6820 Wireless Inkjet Printer is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 72.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Big Bang for the Buckeroo I bought this printer to print photos. I didnt have a whole lotta money to work with so in that regard this really fit the bill. I like the fact that its so easy to access canon thru its 800 number and its free to boot if you have questions or need answers to problems. This printer uses only five ink cartridges and using that it makes incredibly great prints. But the basic reason I chose this printer is because: I really like the 11x17 format for photos and heres a printer that can not only give you that, can give you 11x14 and can also print thirteen inch wide prints for a reasonable price with great quality. Great Value for the money A+

Rated 4 out of 5 by from larger looks better This printer works great for light home office printing and occasional recreation use. It is very easy ti install and allows every computer, laptops, tablets, and cell phones to print wirelessly without the trouble to transfer file from one device to a dedicated computer as in the old days. It lacks the auto on feature so it needs to be turned on everytime you use it. Print quality is much better and you get a larger print comparing to all-in-one printers. Since it can be easily used by mobile devices, you tend to use it moreoften thus costing more for buying more ink and paper. The price is very reasonable for the printer but Canon gets its profit from supplies. Don't let the kids know they can print from their cell phones and you will be ok.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Everyday Home Printer We bought this printer for everyday home use. This is a very fast printer, with excellent print quality. I've also used it for photos and while it does a surprisingly good job on those, I wouldn't use it for high end photos as it loses detail in the really light and really dark areas. (For outstanding photo printing, I've used the Epson Stylus Photo printers, but just didn't have the moolah right now!) It took a while to get the AirPrint to work from our iPhones and iPad - I don't know what we did but that works fine now. And the wireless printing from our computer works like a breeze.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Brainer This printer is GREAT! If you want big prints keep your old printer to scan and print the mundane gas bill etc. but for photos? Use this... I used a Canon 9900 for years until it bit the dust (it was 5x more expensive 10 yrs. ago and this is JUST as good and maybe better for color photos). NO it doesn't scan, it doesn't fax, it doesn't correlate - and so what? What it does is print GREAT photos of any size up to 13x19 poster size. It doesn't use gray ink - if you are looking to print B&W then this may not be perfect - I haven't tried- but the color prints will blow you away. It's fast, it sets up automatically really (SIMPLE) and it is quiet. This printer is a NO BRAINER in my book!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Printer exceeded my expectations After much research, I purchased this Canon photo printer to replace my 11 year old HP Photosmart printer. I am a serious amateur photographer and frequently print pictures in various sizes. I was looking for a fast printer with great photo printing capability and one that allowed me to print up to 13 X 19 inch photos, something I couldn't do before. To date I've only printed borderless sizes up to 8 1/2 X 11 but am blown away with both the speed of this printer and the quality of the prints. Works well with Canon paper and all the HP paper left over from my previous printer. It is super easy to load various size paper and I love that you can completely close the paper feed and output tray keeping the printer somewhat dirt and dust free. Finally, I found the printer to be extremely quiet, a plus since I usually print my pictures late at night. I highly recommend this printer and can't wait to see my first 13 X 19 print.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What's not to like? Well.... Canon makes a terrific large format home printer. This unit was a replacement for the previous model with no wifi, and I won't be using the wifi anyway, but it's a shade bigger, still beautiful and prints just beautifully. NOT like the high dollar, high tank count model, but beautifully. You just have to decide what you want great prints and more cash or great prints and no cash. Where the model falls down and loses a star is the area where all printers in this range fall down....ink. A little less dinky than the previous CLI-226 carts from my old printer, the CLI-251 is still a dinky cart, and you can expect to use a lot of them. But if you want large format prints, you are going to use large fields of ink. You won't do any better with another brand in this size output. SO you have to swallow hard and order more ink. But try not to let it distract from the greater point. You are outputting great-looking stuff and you should be proud of the results. I don't do much graphics, but the resolution is there for it. Just not sure how it looks. One large pigment black cart offers a no compromise clarity, so Canon didn't leave you with nothing to compete with the 8 cart models. But the best thing is the versatility. I print canvas, resin-coated, matte super-gloss, stickers, iron ons, whatever kind of material you can buy to stuff in it, you get great results. I sold my iX6520 while it still had plenty of life left in it so a friend could enjoy it, and I simply picked up the next best model in this one. That tells you something I guess.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy wired network install I spent very little time installing the 6820. I had a 6520 that I bought last year that suddenly failed; support is non-existent for that model. So, I used the loyalty program to buy the 6820 for less than the competition; i.e., the total cost (printer, shipping). I have only printed a few pages and I find the colors to be quite rich. The ink tanks are much larger than on the 6520 (I'll have to see what the refilling costs are). So, bottom-line ... a good printer that does not use a lot of room.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Was great til Apple upgraded the High Sierra OS Bought the IX6820 end of April 2017 as I needed to do posters and 11/17 size work. easy set up, wireless worked great. Running High Sierra OS 10.13. No problems. beautiful prints, quick, fast, loved it. Been Canon printer user for over 15 yrs. Customer service always great. Apple upgraded OS to 10.13.1, still no problem. Upgraded network provider with better faster speeds, new apple router, netgear modem, all worked great. Apple come out with OS 10.13.2. Printer had issues. Pretty comfortable with computers, networks, printers, etc. deleted printer, problem started. Laptop with the upgraded OS would recognize the disk. desktop wouldn't recognize the disk. Downloaded upgraded drivers from Canon. Wouldn't recognize the network. Now have printer that won't connect to network so can't use it. Fry's Electronics here in Arizona had the printer on at a good price. It's less than a year old. Just now reading this printer model is a few yrs old. checked at time of purchase - said it was MAC OS X compatable. Don't know whether to complain to Canon or Apple or both. $200 printer that I can't use. Would love to use it again if I can get updated drivers for the 10.13.2 version of High Sierra.
