GC4101 Padded Tripod Bag is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent!...and expensive I desparately wanted to give this bag one star because of the exorbitant price. I needed a bag just as long as my old Giotto but with more room. I carry a nodal bar, gimbal head, raincover, bungies and leg covers with me and though the Giotto was fine for the sticks, the other stuff was orphaned. This Gitzo has all the room to carry stuff because of its asymmetrical shape. It's also lined with 1/2 inch thick padding even on the ends (the Giotto had 1/8-1/4 padding and only on the sides. The Gitzo fabric is ripstop nylon and I don't know how it will hold up next to the Giotto's Cordura. All in all, this is excellent for me, and the price I'll swallow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Quality Bag I purchased this bag after trying the less expensive RRS Large bag, which was a very tight fit for my Gitzo GT 3543LS (Series 3) Tripod with RRS BH-55. The RRS bag was long enough but the diameter was too small. The Gitzo bag is so wide I can carry my tripod plus a monopod and still have room for more. It's got extra length for the 3543LS as well, so it would handle a gimbal head with ease. The bag looks like a piece of luggage and is priced like one. I didn't want to spend this much on a bag, but with the investment that goes inside the bag, I didn't want to skimp, either. The Gitzo logo is understated so it doesn't scream $$$$ like the RRS logo. Hard to find any flaws except the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Bag It fits my Gitzo 5532LS with a RRS Ball head perfectly. In the long term I think the zipper might benefit from be a little heavier but I expect a long service life for this bag. There is enough room that if you were traveling and wanted to pack a few clothes in the bag for extra padding you could. I selected this bag over some others because of where the carry handle is, forward, where the most of the weight of the tripod and head will be. The shoulder strap is long enough to carry cross-body and I'm 6'1 and over 200 lbs. The shoulder strap also has rubber stitching which prevents it from sliding off your shoulder as most nylon straps will do. Overall a well thought out piece of kit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Superb bag at inflated price I am desperate to give this expensive bag a bad review, given the price. I have a Giotto of exactly the same size that holds my GT3542L with a Markins Qi20, but when I add in a gimbal arm, and a nodal bar and a couple bungies and saltwater leg sleeves, it gets very tight. The zipper pulls and eventually will separate from the nylon covering. So I got this bag. It's made of a tough ripstop nylon (a bit thinner than the Cordura of the Giotto bag) and has half inch padding all around, including both ends. Now, the Giotto has about 1/8 padding on the sides, but not the ends. Most importantly, the larger shape at one end is for me a real advantage, and all my stuff for these sticks fits well, without and pulling of the zipper. OK, I'm a fan, but I'm still annoyed by the price. It's another instance of Gitzo charging for the name, but also some very good features in this bag. The 4 stars is for the high price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable This is a well made durable case for protecting your investment. I usually don't go with the manufacturers cases but this was one exception. It's that much better than the others out there. It can easily fit my GT3542LS with a Wemberly WH-200II head attached.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good bag No wonder Gitzo won't give it as part of the purchase of their tripod. It is well made, sturdy and well padded. You can carry it to locations without any problem. Fit well with my new Gitzo tripod and head. You can even check-in as a separate luggage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm ver pleased and contented... I used the product to carry my Gitzo tripod and attached ballhead when I travel. It is very lightweight and comfortable to carry around. The protective pads are thick enough to protect my expensive gear when this is checked in as luggage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As Advertised I was looking for a well made padded bag to carry my Gitzo Systematic tripod w/ attached RRS head. This fit the bill. Tripod w/ attached head fits great; it's easy to carry w/ either the handle or attached shoulder strap.
