    Gitzo GC1202T reviews

GC1202T Padded Traveler Tripod Bag Series 1 is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits GT1541T plus Arca Swiss P0 comfortably snug After searching all over the web and calling and emailing B&H I was not able to figure out whether a GT1541T plus Arca-Swiss P0 head would fit in this. I ordered it to try, thinking I would probably need to go larger to the GC2202T, but the GC1202T fits perfectly with the head attached, see pics, so decided to write a review to help others with the same question out. Newer GT1544T (with similarly short center column) might fit equally well in this with P0 attached but did not try.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really nice case that I wish was a bit l This is a very nice case that seems well made and with good padding. I intend to use it to protect my Gitzo GT1544T tripod when travelling or strapping it onto a pack for hiking. My one complaint is that I wish it were just 1/2 to 3/4 larger inside, then I could have used my Benro ball head or a more standard sized one. As it turned out, I bought a RRS BH-30 Pro, which is a great ball head and which when attached to the GT1544T fits snugly into the bag without forcing it. The height of this head is 2.9/75 mm; anything larger I think would be a squeeze.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Case, A Llittle Overpriced This is a good case. The strap, attachment loops, and pocket are well thought out and functional. The case is well made and it fits my Traveler legs with and RRS BH-30 head like a glove. And it is a tight glove! The fit is tight but that is an advantage. The pod will not slide around at all on hikes. It is too expensive. I see it as a $$case, not a $$case and loses a star for that

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazingly small and light Gitzo GT1544T I got the tripod legs along with the bag GC1202T during the holiday season. This is amazingly light set of legs. One can carry anywhere. Inside the bag, attached outside the bag, shoulder strapped. The only irritant for me Two of the legs are not smooth. While one leg is amazingly smooth. It moves even with a quarter twist of each section. I am expexting that with little more usage, the two legs will also become smooth. I use Sony NEX mirrorless camera. The entire combination just works perfectly for me. It keeps me highly mobile without any weight to carry. Currently I am using Manfrotto 498 head that I have. The combination works. But need to remove head frequently. Shortly I will buy smaller ballhead and the problem should go away.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Quite Big Enough I ordered the Gitzo GC1202T Traveler Tripod Bag to use with my new Traveler tripod and Acratech Ultimate Ballhead combination. The bag was long enough, but would not zip closed with the head attached. Without the head attached, the Traveler tripod fit into the bag like a glove, was well constructed and offered good protection. B&H was very helpful about arranging a return and recommending an alternative bag - the FLM FB 14-48 Tripod Bag. The FLM bag is still in transit, so I can't comment on its fit yet, but the stated dimensions suggest it should fit very well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well padded Wish it was easier to keep it strapped to my back pack while still being able to pull the tripod out of the bag without detaching the whole thing from by camera bag. As it is now, I have to detach the tripod bag completely to pull out the tripod. Possibly more a function flaw of my back pack than the tripod bag... Well padded, though, to protect my nice tripod while getting from point A to point B.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice but slippery Very well made bag with wide stripe, but – no rubber? I don't know, probably it's kind of signature of Gitzo, to make kit strap, Gitzo GC5210 and all tripod bags with no rubber, but does it make sense? Well, it's not funny at all. Why I always have to care is it still on my shoulder or already felt down and probably hit somebody? This is not smart at all, especially for high class product (and price). I will not ask him to make me coffee, but couple of rubber stripes on one side would be nice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice bag but a tad small. I'm using this bag for my Gitzo GT1545T tripod and It just fits. It was recommended as an accessory and does fit but it's very snug.
