Gigabyte 260X Overview

The Radeon R7 260X Graphics Card from GIGABYTE is a computer graphics card that includes Windows drivers and can be installed in desktop computers with PCI Express expansion slots. It can be used to meet the graphics rendering demands of 3D video games, or to provide additional processing power for GPU-aware applications that benefit from or require a dedicated graphics card.

This version of the R7 260X features a pre-overclocked (boosted), 1075 MHz GPU that can be reconfigured using the included OC GURU ll utility software. To help move data to and from the GPU as efficiently as possible, the card features 1GB of 1500 MHz GDDR5 RAM over a 128-bit memory interface. Because GDDR5 RAM moves data at four words per cycle, the effective memory clock speed works out to 6000 MHz.

The card can be connected to a variety of display types, including computer monitors, HDTVs, projectors, and 3D displays. It features an HDMI port, a dual-link DVI-I (digital and analogue) port, a single-link DVI-D (digital only) port, and a VGA port.

Popular API Support
Supports DirectX 11.2, OpenGL 4.3, AMD App Acceleration, and other APIs to allow compatible, GPU-aware software to benefit from GPU acceleration. This provides better graphics rendering and in the case of parallel processing, helps shift some of the computational workload off your computer's CPU for better system performance
AMD HD3D
Allows you to view 3D content from Blu-ray DVDs, video games, 3D graphics software, and other 3D applications when using the card in conjunction with compatible active or passive 3D displays
AMD Catalyst Software
Utility software from AMD that provides the following features:
  • AMD Catalyst Control Center: For setting up, configuring, and accessing various features of the card
  • Unified Graphics Display Driver: Allows other PC programs and devices to use advanced graphics, video, and other features the card offers
  • Video Capture Driver: Lets you capture digitized video from external sources and save it on your hard drive
    OC GURU ll
Utility software allowing you to adjust the card's settings, monitor performance parameters including GPU clock, memory clock, and fan level. You can also download and update the BIOS firmware and drivers
    Ultra Durable 2 Cooling System
Combines a 10cm fan, low RDS(on) MOSFET design, ferrite core chokes, and solid-state capacitors that together are designed to keep the card working at a safe operational temperature while minizing fan noise levels, even while running overclocked, as well as extend the life expectancy of the card
    Gold Plated HDMI
Gold plating over the HDMI connector is designed to help minimize the potential for signal dropouts through the interface
AMD Graphics Core Next (GCN) Architecture
Features a 28nm core architecture designed to increase efficiency by putting more transistors in less space. In addition, this architecture has been engineered so that it is capable of performing many of the processing tasks that previously could only be handled by a computer's CPU
Quad Data Rate (QDR) GDDR5 RAM
Because GDDR5 RAM can transfer up to four words per cycle, as opposed to one word per cycle with traditional RAM, the effective data rate is quadrupled, allowing this card to process data transactions as quickly as if it had a 6 GHz memory clock speed
    PCI Express 3.0 x16 Support
Provides twice the bandwidth of PCI Express 2.0; for example, an x8 PCI Express 3.0 slot has the same bandwidth as a x16 PCI 2.0 slot. In addition, the card remains backward-compatible with motherboards using earlier generations of PCI Express
