The Genustech 82mm Eclipse ND Fader Filter is a solid variable neutral density filter providing an exposure reduction of approximately 2 to 8 stops. The 0.6 to 2.4 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. The degree of density is easily controlled by rotating the front filter ring, helping you to predetermine the additional exposure length required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

The filter is constructed from optical glass for high image quality and features an aluminum filter ring for rigidity and to prevent filter jamming. For easier, repeatable control over density settings, the front ring is visually demarcated with dots that represent different density values. The front 86mm female threads of the filter are larger than the rear 82mm male threads to help minimize vignetting.

82mm Eclipse ND Fader Filter is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This one works It goes to the maximum light attenuation without the black X. Doesn't seem to change colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality. I bought the 82mm Filter size in order to accomadate any lens size. I got the Step down rings. If you're using the filter in the direction of a bright light (the sun) your going to need a lens hood. The thread size on the front of the filter is 86mm. You can't go wrong with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best In Class!!! I used to this fader in bright light to maintain a shallow depth of field on the subject. It has a very smooth feel and the dreaded X type pattern does not appear at the maximum setting. It is lightweight, well-built and well worth the investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very good product. I have been using the 77mm version for a few years. It's invaluable to landscape photographers, not just long exposure, but under strong sunlight to reduce the light and increase contrast. works better than CL polarizer when light comes from all the directions. the 82mm works just as well like the 77mm. I bought it for nikon my 24-70mm VR. no issues so far.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing effect When I spin the filter there is no point when the light stop is even. The effect is either bright on two sides and dark in the centre, or the other way around. Difficult to use. I requested a return because it's unusable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just what I was hoping for..... Haven't had the chance to take many pictures and will follow up on that but otherwise the filter is well constructed and comes in a heavy duty plastic case. I don't think you can go wrong.
