Universal Control
Today's DAWs, instruments, effects and lighting applications are designed to interface with controllers that enable users to make high-precision changes with minimal effort. Built-in Mackie Control emulation allows your X-TOUCH MINI to work with virtually any professional audio production software imaginable - as soon as you take it from the box - no setup required
Get To Work Quickly
The X-TOUCH MINI features a 60mm master fader, and a Dual Layer Mode for quick changes between DAW and instrument control - or switching between any two applications. For example, a DJ can use one layer for virtual synths - and the other to control lightning during his show. Or an engineer in a house of worship could control lighting on one layer and playback from a DAW in the other. You get right to being creative quickly, because the MINI comes with pre-configured control elements for operation out of the box
The MINI features 8 rotary knobs with LED-collars for on-the-fly adjustment of your favorite parameters. It also has 16 dedicated illuminated buttons (including transport control) for direct access to key functions of your DAW. The built-in USB/MIDI interface allows direct connection to your Mac/PC, and for future add-ons of other controllers - no drivers required. Just plug into the X-TOUCH MINI for immediate access to 2 layers of awesome control

    Behringer X-Touch Mini reviews

X-TOUCH MINI Universal USB Controller is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Highly recommended control surface for Lightroom! As a photographer, this is a very handy control surface for Lightroom (in conjunction with midi2lr). It is so nice to have a physical knob to turn for various parameters like exposure, contrast, blacks, shadows, mid-tones, etc. as it makes editing much faster than using a mouse/trackpad or graphics tablet. Similarly, I have mapped buttons to handle other 'binary' functions such as next and previous, rating and flagging, before/after and a few other functions, It may take a little while to create a set of mappings that are intuitive and fast, but the since the mappings can be customized endlessly, it is just a matter of tweaking here and there. A really important aspect of this controller is that the knobs are actually endless rotary encoders (with LEDs to indicate the virtual 'position'). What this means is that there are no physical limits and they don't have to be physically reset from one image to the next... the virtual position will automatically update as you cycle through your images and adjustments are seamless (search for some demo/review videos of this controller with Lightroom and you'll see what I mean -- it's great!). My only gripe is that the X-Touch Editor software is not available on the Mac. Although it is not required for general use, it is required if you want to adjust the mappings/behaviors (in the MIDI control space) for the encoders and buttons. The practical issue here is that many of the presets that people have created for use with Lighroom rely on the editor to modify the basic behaviors. Since there is no Mac version of the Editor software, you cannot load/edit the appropriate custom MIDI behaviors and these presets do not work. As a result, I couldn't leverage the included presets and I had to perform all my own mappings (and I'm still working on getting my setup 'just right') -- a bit of a pain, but not a deal breaker. Overall, I really like this controller -- it is quickly becoming essential for my photo editing in LR!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Photo editing on Adobe Lightroom with MIDI Controller X-Touc Love the X-Touch midi controller for photo editing with Lightroom that speed up the process by 10 time faster and higher quality edits. Set the board up so it fits you style with everything at your finger tips

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Lightroom editing using Midi2lr to program this controller has sped up my Lightroom editing time drastically. I was looking at Loupedeck but glad I decided on this platform because you can program this to suit your editing style. Loupedeck’s buttons are spread out haphazardly where as this controller is symmetrical so you know where each button is without looking. The unit itself is solid and all buttons and dials are very responsive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Universal Might May Be Interpretable So, here is my experience with LightroomClassic/photoshopCC and Garageband/Logic on an iMac, ver 10.12.6: It does indeed work great in LightroomClassic. You need to install a Midi plugin for it to work — the popular MIDI2LR is free to download from its website (the programmer has a donate button), and works great. Every knob, button, and the slider are assignable… twice! Once in level A mode, and: press the level B button and everything can be assigned again. Additionally, the turning knobs are also buttons — just press them straight in to click — which can be assigned an entirely different function from their turning function. The Behringer x-touch mini does NOT work with photoshopCC. Apparently CameraRaw is a built in midi controller. One could, however, go with the pricier Loupedeck Photo Editing Console for Lightroom 6 & CC, or with a Palette Aluminum Professional Control Surface Kit. Garageband is currently programed to NOT work with Midi controller surfaces (hence does not work with this unit), only with Midi instruments. I haven’t upgraded to Logic yet, but my research via websites and Youtube videos has revealed that the Behringer x-touch mini will work with Logic, when you power it up in Mackie Control mode instead of standard mode. Then, only with the included presets. Because the Behringer software to assign customizable functions does not work on Mac. You can, it seems, do so on a windows machine, then hook it back up to iMac — but this I haven’t tried, only read/viewed. The unit is very light and solid overall; has a really good feel to it; and the buttons & knobs light up when pressed or turned. Can’t beat that!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inexpensive Adobe Lightroom controller with MIDI2LR For the price, this is a great value. Tactile controls + LED status indicators for photo editing are very intuitive. Mapping the buttons and knobs is a pain, but worth spending time to get right, to mimic your editing workflow. Be aware the Behringer config software only works on PC, not Mac. So if you want to change the behavior of the LED collars, for example, you'll need to borrow a friend's PC.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works great with lightroom i use this in conjunction with midi2lr. I've only been using this for a few days and so far a really like it. And i havent even mapped all the controls yet. The encoder knobs are great since they automatically sync to whatever settings the current photo has.
