The DJI Phantom Quadcopter Version 1.1.1 with GoPro HERO4 Silver Edition is a bundle from B&H that is designed to get you started shooting aerial video. The bundle features the Phantom Quadcopter Version 1.1.1 with GoPro Mount and the GoPro HERO4 Silver Edition action camera.
The Phantom Version 1.1.1 Quadcopter is a quad-rotor RC platform built for the GoPro camera and features 8" self-tightening propellers, a new addition for this version. It is controlled using a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi transmitter that has an open area range of up to 984'. A sophisticated GPS-based flight control system provides autopilot redundancy to help prevent loss of stability in flight as well as a return-to-home feature that actives if the transmitter signal is ever lost.
The GoPro HERO4 Silver is included so you can actually capture aerial footage whether for recording, as an "eye-in-the-sky" to get the FPV (first person view) experience, or both. The Silver Edition features Full HD (1080p) video capture up to 60 fps, 2.7K video at 30 fps, 4K at 15 fps, and can also take up to 12MP still photos. Internally, it records video and photos to a microSD memory card up to 64GB in capacity. Although the HERO4 Silver has built-in Wi-Fi, it is very important this feature is turned OFF while it is mounted on the Phantom 2. Otherwise the Wi-Fi can potentially interfere with the quadcopter's internal receiver causing the controls to become unresponsive.
Warning: Never use the DJI Phantom Quadcopter with your GoPro camera when both devices have their Wi-Fi systems turned on. The DJI Phantom's Wi-Fi and the GoPro camera's Wi-Fi run on the same frequency, so if you use them together when both Wi-Fi systems are engaged, the DJI Phantom's transmitter will lose the ability to communicate with the DJI Phantom Quadcopter. Whenever this happens, you will not be able to tell the Phantom where to fly. This may result in loss of property or damage to your equipment.
