The DJI Phantom Quadcopter Version 1.1.1 with Gimbal and GoPro HERO3+ Black is a bundle from B&H that is designed to get you started shooting aerial video. The bundle features the Phantom Quadcopter Version 1.1.1, the Zenmuse H3-2D Gimbal and required upgrade hardware, and the GoPro HERO3+ Black Edition action camera.
The Phantom Version 1.1.1 Quadcopter is a quad-rotor RC platform built for the GoPro camera and features 8" self-tightening propellers, a new addition for this version. It is controlled using a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi transmitter that has an open area range of up to 984'. A sophisticated GPS-based flight control system provides autopilot redundancy to help prevent loss of stability in flight as well as a return-to-home feature that actives if the transmitter signal is ever lost.
The Zenmuse H3-2D Gimbal is a two axis gimbal stabilizer for the GoPro. In addition to isolating the camera from unwanted vibration, the gimbal also allows the pilot to tilt the camera in-flight using a lever that attaches to the back of the transmitter. In addition to the gimbal itself, this bundle also includes the Phantom Upgrade Kit for Zenmuse H3-2D, which contains a circuit board and cables that need to be installed in order for the gimbal electronics to interface with the Phantom's flight control system. Note: Installation of this upgrade kit requires soldering and splicing wires.
To capture video in from the air, this bundle features the GoPro HERO3+ Black Edition action camera. The camera can shoot 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution video at 15 fps, and can shoot full HD (1920 x 1080) video at 60 fps. It can also take still photos up to 12MP.
Warning: Never use the DJI Phantom Quadcopter with your GoPro camera when both devices have their Wi-Fi systems turned on. The DJI Phantom's Wi-Fi and the GoPro camera's Wi-Fi run on the same frequency, so if you use them together when both Wi-Fi systems are engaged, the DJI Phantom's transmitter will lose the ability to communicate with the DJI Phantom Quadcopter. Whenever this happens, you will not be able to tell the Phantom where to fly. This may result in loss of property or damage to your equipment.
