    Rode INVISI-3PK reviews

invisiLav Discreet Lavalier Mounting System (3-Pack) is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 45.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beware of tape... The actual silicone itself works fantastic. The adhesive that comes with it, on the other hand, not so much. I'm pretty sure the majority of the tape I received was manufactured with the wrong side of the paper against the adhesive. It was impossible to get the tape off without bringing the paper with it. Once I finally did get one to work, the tape simply refused to stick to the silicone. I managed to get it to work however. It stayed in place great, however when done recording it was painful removing the mic unit. The adhesive worked too well for skin contact. I would STRONGLY recommend another adhesive product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nothing Sticks to it I've used it twice, it seems to do a pretty good job of absorbing shock/clothes rustling, I'd have to use it more to know for sure. My big issue with it though is no tape seems to stick to this rubber concealer; topstick, moleskin, transpore, nothing. I have to create a sandwich to hold it and tape to the wire as well. Also, having two slots for mics is never necessary for what I do, so I cut them in half. I use DPA 4061s in these which are 0.4mm too large so cutting the invislavs horizontally and vertically (into 4ths) and using the two top halves is what I do to make it smaller and fit the 4061 in there easily. Since this purchase I have invested in more DPA concealers instead.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cumbersome The adhesive tape is very sticky except when applying to the invisiLav where it has a hard time sticking. Also I'd rather have a place for mounting only one mic in order to reduce the size. Too big, makes concealment harder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great accessory to add to your Lav I used this product a with shots where I didn't want to see the Mic on our talent. It is well concealed and does not impact the quality of the recording. It is a firmer silicone than I expected, which is probably intended for firmly gripping the Mics. One side of the mount has a shroud which is good for very thin mics such as the Sanken. Yet it is also wide enough to handle standard mics. Despite being sandwiched between clothes and skin, the mount do not create rubbing noise to the recording. Lastly, I tested this setup using 2 mics at once. It successfully captured it ease. This is a great item to add to your audio arsenal. The only slight downside is that the adhesive is hard to peal off, and you have to make it adheres to the silicone firmly. If you need a quick setup on the fly, this will be a little hard to use. However you can be prepared by adding the adhesive strip ahead of time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Massive reduction in noise from clothes Obviously there are other ways to reduce the noise from clothes and whatnot scraping against the mic. This does a fantastic job. The only issue is the limited number of double sided stickies. Get some double sided toupee tape. it's skin safe and cheap for a whole lot of it. Bonus, it cuts down on the lump a lav makes on it's own making it less obvious which, I suppose, was the original intent of the product. So, it does that well too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save your money. Waste of money. The double sided tape doesn't stick it. I even tried top stick and nothing holds to it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Kinda works, tape doesn't stick Biggest negative is neither the provided tape as well as wig tape doesn't stick to this material very well at all. I wouldn't trust double sticking it under a shirt and staying in place. Wrapping double stick tape around it and sticking to the skin/undershirt AND the outer layer seems to stay put but then why use this item? The silicone isn't silent against materials but definitely better than the mic directly rubbing. It does fit the Sennheiser ME2 lav mic. It does stretch the material a bulge a little more than intended but I'm not worried of breaking the silicone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad These seem to work alright. Although there are probably cheaper alteratives or even DIY setups to accoplish the same thing. It doesn't work with every lav out there. I had to make alterations for my lav to fit inside the casing. I could still hear occasional rustling from my shirt, but I did slightly alter it and my lav may be too sensitive. So it may work better with the rode brand lav mics. The adhesive worked well in my test run, but be sure to have the skin area free of hair as it will pull it out during removal. If you use the rode mics made for this then it will probably work just fine, but I'd suggest trying DIY methods if looking to save a few dollars while having similar results.
