FUJIFILM 16421282 overview

  • 1Description

The FUJIFILM MHG-XT Metal Hand Grip for X-T1 provides an optimized grip for easier handling and manipulation of the FUJIFILM X-T1 Mirrorless Digital Camera. Milled from aluminum alloy and matching the silhouette of the camera, this hand grip adds an additional 8mm of clearance from the base of the body to better support the use of large-diameter lenses when mounted to a tripod. At the base of the grip, a 38mm-wide protrusion features a dovetail design that can act as a quick release plate with Arca-Swiss-style tripod mounts.

The grip also facilitates access to the battery compartment and memory card slot, even when mounted to a tripod, for easier switching of batteries and cards during shooting. Additionally, the 1/4"-20 tripod mount has been positioned along the optical axis of the camera to benefit the creation of panning shots.

MHG-XT Metal Hand Grip for X-T1 is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fuji X-T1 Metal Hand Grip Review This grip is on my Fuji X-T1 mirrorless camera to improve my grip on the camera and keep my middle finger further away from the Fn1 button. It is very well made, the grip portion is covered by a very grippy material which adds to the security of holding the camera, and the bottom plate is machined to be used with an Arca-type tripod head. It also has the necessary cutouts on the base to allow access to the battery compartment without removing the grip. I'm completely satisfied with it, the fit in my hand is very secure, and the quality of the materials and workmanship of the grip equals anything you'd get from the highest quality accessory manufacturers. I highly recommend this grip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Required accessory The MHG-XT is never coes off my camera. It is pretty much a requirement for me to have the camera be comfortable enough for extended periods. My pinky used to slip off the bottom end of the camera, but this grip helps with that issue. It also obviously gives a better grip. The grip looks like a part of the camera and the whole thing is of the same construction as the camera. It adds a little weight and bulk to the system, but not much. While it is expensive I'm glad I bought it. I will try the new larger metal grip and will then decide which one I want to keep.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect for my slim hands. i have no regrets. i was turn between the large size and this one. i just have my 55-200mm and felt uncomfortable with the balance of the x-t1 camera body with the big lens and this grip was the answer. it added more weight to the camera but it also give a look of proportion and naturally blend with the body. loving it everyday. my only comment is that, i wish fujifilm consider to add more grip of their camera body. i also owned x-e1 and had the same problem, but this is not the review is all about.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice but adds weight Helps handling a Fuji 55-200mm lens. Easy to remove battery from bottom of camera.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easier handling After installing this grip, I can handle my X-T1 much much better even though I have small hands. Very good quality as well. BUT if you need a L-Bracket over this Grip, Do Not buy an expensive RRS BXT1-L. RRS L-Bracket CANNOT be installed on this MHG-XT unless you dig the hole and get a longer button head 1/4-20 screw. Probably I will end up with buying a Sunwayfoto PFL-XT1R L-bracket with a hand grip.....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great grip, but pricey This accessory adds almost as much grip to the X-T1 as what you'd find on a classic DSLR without increasing the overall bulk. The material is just as grippy as the main body of the camera, and once installed it feels solid and looks great. The hand grip lines up the tripod socket with the center of the lens, and you can still access the battery compartment once it's on there. Although it does add a bit of weight to the camera, it isn't by much, and the hand grip aids tremendously when shooting one-handed (not to mention using larger zooms). It also adds just enough height to the camera that you can get your pinky on there if you don't have very large hands. My only gripe is the price it's worth it, but only just.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice addition to the X-T1 I purchased the Fugi X-T1 in part to have a small, light weight mirrorless alternative to a DSLR. The addition of the MHG-XT hand grip has defeated this purpose to a small degree. It is well made and provides a much better grip for the camera, especially with larger lenses. I also like the built-in Arca-compatible tripod mount. While I don't particularlyy like the added weight and size, so far I have only removed the hand grip for street photography when using my pancake lens. Overall, it is a good addition to the X-T1.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from handy grip (pardon the pun!) Tho' small (& low cost), this grip makes the Fujifilm X-T1 much easier to hold securely. It attaches tightly to the camera base with a special (supplied) wrench & provides both a conventional tripod socket & access to the battery compartment.
