10x26 Predator Binocular is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK - Not great, but good enough for the price. I have a few larger binoculars but I wanted something small and light to take with me more often. Sporting events, hiking, hunting, gun range, etc. Physical size and weight were as expected. Got them on sale. The first pair I received had very vague focus operation, sloppy might be the word for it. When pulling slightly past focus you would expect to go slightly back to find it, but there was slop in the dial such that I needed to travel about three times farther back than anticipated. Of course then I'd go slightly past the other direction and same issue. It resulted in seesawing more than you would expect to find focus, even on a cheap pair of binocs. Another problem was the eyecup protectors did not fit. They looked like the were from a larger model of binoc. I contacted B&H about an exchange, hoped the focus issue was pair specific and that maybe Steiner made a packaging mistake or that maybe even they were returned once before and someone put the wrong caps in. Anyhow, B&H customer service was fantastic. They sent me a new pair. The new pair had slightly better focus operation, but the same eyecup protector issue. Evidently this is a Steiner issue. I threw the eyecup protectors away, there is no way they would stay on. 2 star deduction because it really doesn't matter how good the optics are if the eyepiece is constantly full of dust, pollen, leaves, water spots, etc. I would not have purchased a pair of binocs without the protectors, but now that's what I have. Probably my last Steiner purchase, there is just so much good competition. Not my last B&H purchase, always excellent service. I speak more with my wallet than I do with my reviews. Not worth returning these again, but they will probably be stuck in the back of a drawer for a few years and then off to Goodwill or I'll give them to my 12 year old. Nikon has never disappointed me and will likely be my next bet.
