question

Anyone has back focus problems with this camera ?
Asked by: Anonymous
We have problems with back focus on all models of jvc. The factory lens that came with the camera is a little different to reset than a traditional lens. The 650 and 660 models have to be shipped away to jvc to reset because they have a fixed lens.

Just to be sure, the Canon 14x lens included with this kit:1. Is not a cheap(er) kit lens, right?2. Has tactile end-stops for all rings, including iris, zoom, and focus, right?

1. This is an affordable pro lens.2. This lens does not work by wire, I.E. all three rings have hard stops.

question

How many pins for the 20x fujinon lens? 8 or 12?
Asked by: Kenny
The JVC GY-HM850U's Fujinon 20x AF lens has an 8 pin connection. Here is the JVC supported zoom/focus kit: JVC HZ-HM800VZRKIT VariZoom Rear Control Kit for Fujinon 20x AF Lens B&H # JVHM800VZRK. If you want, you can use this zoom-only control. It connects via the camcorder's LANC connector. JVC Remote Lens Control for GY-HM600 & GY-HM650 Cameras B&H # JVHZHM600VZR.

question

How well does this camera shoot in low lighting conditions? Does it do a good job? And how accurate is the auto mode for iris and focus? Thanks
Asked by: Anonymous
This camera does not perform well in low light. I have 5 of them in my shop, and I get complaints nearly everyday because they don't do the job. The stock lens is not a constant aperture lens either. Anytime you zoom in on an object, you will lose light.

question

Is there a back focus ring on the lens? I have this camera and lens and can't find one. Not sure how to accomplish back focus.
Asked by: Timothy W L.
It doesn't have a backfocus ring. You can set the backfocus but I don't recall off the top of my head how to do it. It is really weird. There is a button on the bottom of the lens that you have to hold. It turns the Iris ring into a backfocus ring. You can find the specific directions in the camera manual. If you don't have one you can find it online. They don't make anything easy on these JVCs.
