Mohu Leaf 50 Overview

The MoHu Leaf 50 Indoor HDTV Antenna is a powerful indoor antenna that allows you to receive free over-the-air (OTA) HD broadcasts. The Leaf 50 is designed for straightforward installation, simply attach the antenna and amplifier to your HDTV with the included 16' coaxial cable. It features a multi-directional design, so there's no need to point the antenna for signal strength. Once installed, it has an operation range of up to 50 miles for UHF signals, and 20 miles for VHF signals.

As an added convenience, the Leaf 50 can be powered by USB or AC power; a USB cable and power adapter are included with the antenna. Therefore, If your TV has an available USB port, it can be used to power the Leaf 50 antenna. An advantage of using your TV's USB port to power the antenna is that the Leaf 50 with only draw power when the TV is turned on, reducing overall power consumption.

I have the Mohu Leaf Indoor HDTV antenna on the window in my living room. While I should be getting 50 or so channels I'm only getting 20. The reception on most of these channels is mediocre at best. The picture constantly breaks up and the audio goes in and out. The cable to the antenna is as important to the reception as is the antenna. If the cable moves the slightest bit I lose the picture. The cable to boost the signal is a joke. I had to take it out of the loop to get any stations. New antenna, new tv - I thought for sure I would be getting every station with great reception. Not even close.

No better than a cheaper non powered antenna

I purchased this antenna to replace a much less expensive non powered antenna that I had been using on a TV in my work room. The reception and number of channels I could successfully bring in was exactly the same for both. It works, but the cheaper one worked just as well.

I have try to install this antenna several times following the easy instructions and nothing happens. I follow the instructions step by step and try it on two separate TV's. please respond. Any sugestions?

The Leaf 50 does work and provides an amazing, crystal-clear picture, but it's very finicky on what position/place you put it. I have 2 of these - one for the TV in the bedroom and one for the TV in the living room, but they're set up differently. In the living room, I DID use the amplifier that comes with it; in the bedroom, I did not because I couldn't get a clear picture no matter where I positioned the Leaf. In the bedroom, the only place I got reception was when the Leaf was on one particular spot of the window that faces west, and even then, it made a difference which way a looped the cable around the room. The 16' cable that came with the Leaf wasn't long enough for that installation, so I had to buy a longer cable. (I think it was 30'.) The Leaf in the living room is pinned to the ceiling almost directly above the TV (Use your own push-pins - the ones they provide break very easily.), and again, I needed to use the amplifier. Angling the Leaf in the slightest can alter the reception, so you just need to be patient and find that sweet spot where it works. Being in front of a curtain or behind it, or up by the ceiling or down by the floor, can impact your reception. Good luck. You'll get it, and when you do, you'll be quite happy with it!

If the TV has an ATSC/NTSC tuner it sure will, depending upon your location, distance from the television broadcast stations, geography, etc.

What the highest amount of channels this antenna has?

I lived in Fort Lee NJ and I was able to pick up over 57 channels included local channels in HD. I've cut my cable company & was one of my best decision I've made.
