The handheld Greenlee PA1594 LAN A/V Cable Check Tester enables network professionals to quickly and easily verify the integrity of straight-through, twisted pair, and coaxial cables. The PA1594 can also test crossover cables and check the continuity and configuration of wiring with RJ45 plugs. The unit is able to test for open circuits, shorts, miswires, reversals, and split pairs and features a shield detection test to ensure a cable's shield integrity.

The PA1594 offers a debug mode that quickly identifies which cable pairs have a specific wiring fault. The combination of a main unit and remote unit allows one person to test T568A, T568B, 10Base-T, and Token Ring cables. The main unit is powered by two AAA batteries, while the remote requires no power. A low-battery indicator warns you when the battery is running out of power.
