The Soundcraft Realtime Rack - Live Sound UAD Plug-In Processor (Ultimate Version) is a 1RU 19" rackmountable processor designed in collaboration between Soundcraft and Universal Audio. The unit utilizes four SHARC-based processors to enable adding Universal Audio Plug-ins or UAD Direct Developer Plug-ins at 48 kHz with sub-2 millisecond latency to up to 16 MADI optical channels of your live sound mix through a Soundcraft Vi digital mixing console.
For I/O the real time rack features two Thunderbolt ports, one for connecting to your Mac computer and the other for connecting to a Thunderbolt-to-Ethernet adapter and then to the Ethernet port on your Vi console. MADI optical I/O provides 64 channels at 48 kHz, and up to four Real-Time racks can be daisy chained together with each processing 16 channels of the MADI stream for a total of 64 UAD processed channels. Seventy-four plug-ins are available in the Ultimate version of the processor.
The device supports sample rates from 44.1 to 96 kHz and supports internal, MADI, and Word Clock formats through Word Clock I/O (BNC) with input termination. It also allows you to create, store and recall channel strip presets and snapshots of the effect processes. Dual Power supplies provide a redundant backup to ensure reliable operation in critical live sound applications.
