Azden EX-503i Reviews

It's a microphone...

Better than using the microphone on my phone for voice recording. It helps to record sound much clearer with less wind noise and is small enough to stick in your pocket. I have gotten a little crackling if I bump the jack when recording though. Just something I need to be aware of and avoid if possible.

Cord length and performance

The cord is about 3ft long and the sound quality is very good!....I really dig it!..No complaints ...could be a little longer but its still cool.

question

Can this be used as a regular lav mic (without need of mobile device)?
Asked by: p l.
The EX-503i features a TRRS connector that is designed specifically for smartophone use and will not be compatible with standard 3.5mm mic inputs without an adapter. There is also a standard version of the mic called the EX-503

question

Is there a way to monitor audio as audio is being recorded using the EX-503i?
Asked by: David B.
Not with the equipment as such. You would need a connector like a Rode SC6 Dual TRRS Input and Headphone Output for Smartphones to be able to monitor recordings.
