The small Kaiser Pro Ballhead is a great travelling unit for the serious photographer needing a precision unit that places a premium on retaining an absolutely light weight. Leave the quick release systems, and all their weight, at home; the Kaiser is designed so that the camera platform can be quickly attached and detached from the camera without one. The Kaiser Pro series, in this smallest of formats, is one of the rare ultralight ballheads with an independent panning base with its own lock. The base diameter, excluding knobs, is 1.8" (4.5 cm).
