The off-camera flash cord provides photographers with the ability to fire off-camera Nikon-compatible speedlights. Mounting a camera on the Speedy Bracket with the TTL cord removes harsh shadows when shooting in portrait mode, and reduces red-eye altogether, while maintaining TTL capabilities. One side of the TTL cord fits directly into the camera's hot shoe to ensure that all of the camera's exposure data is maintained. The other side fits onto the Speedy Bracket, where your flash will be attached.

Vello Off-Camera TTL Flash Cord for Nikon Cameras (3')

The 3' Vello Off-Camera TTL Flash Cord provides creative photographers with the ability to remotely fire Nikon flashes with i-TTL capabilities. Removing the flash from the camera's hot shoe allows the photographer to create unique and dramatic lighting styles that are not possible with a traditional shoe-mounted strobe. This coiled cord measures 3', which is enough distance to accommodate hand-held lighting styles or when keeping the flash mounted on a compact flash bracket. Also, off-camera lighting reduces the harsh shadows commonly encountered with direct on-camera flashes and gives your photographs a more natural look.

One side of the TTL cable fits directly into the camera's hot shoe to ensure that all of the camera's exposure data is maintained. The other side has a metal foot with thread that can be attached to any stand, tripod, or device with a standard 1/4"-20 threaded stud or flash shoe mount, and the shoe has a locking knob to ensure your equipment is secure.

Vello CB-200 Reviews

Not a good choice for a larger body

This is just a review for the bracket itself. I have a large assortment of Nikon Bodies (from Zfc up to D850). This bracket is not suitable for any of my full frame DSLRs (D750, D780, D850). It simply was not engineered to fit larger DSLR bodies, and the product description really should state that. I am debating whether to send it back, or take it into my workshop and make a bunch of mods to it so that it will work on my larger bodies. Just be aware of this size limitation before ordering one.

Exactly what I needed

I needed this for use with my wide angle lens to keep from developing shadows due to the large lens.

will this bracket work with my nikon d850?

This bracket is really made for smaller bodies. It really does not work well at all with any of our full frame DSLR bodies (D750, D780, D850). It works fine on all of our DX DSLR and Nikon Z DX bodies.

question

Will the bracket & TTL cord work on my D750?
Asked by: Anonymous
I have had this bracket for a while. It is very sturdy and the ttl cord is built well. I use it with a D5200 with a battery grip (Cheep Aftermarket). With this large setup, the ttl cord connection on the camera side gets a little close to the grip when set vertical. I believe the d750 is larger than the d5200. If you use a large grip on your d750 you may have an issue.I believe that the Nikon grip is not too large and may leave enough room but I am not sure. also, if I do not use the grip and mount just the camera, there is a slight gap between the mount plate and the bottom of the camera. A piece of adhesive foam on the bottom of the camera would keep it tight. the d750 mount hole may have a deeper thread ad work fine. The only complaint I have is the grip slides up and down. I am thinking of making a custom grip for mine. Bottom line: apart from the grip on the bracket it is very solid for the price.

question

Will this work with a Nikon D5100?
Asked by: Patricia L.
Patricia, Yes the bracket will work with the D5100 for I used it on my D5000 and D7000 the only adjustment I made was tightening the screws to make it a bit stiffer for use with my 18mm-200mm lens which is a bit heavier. The best think about it wad that as I used to rotate the camera for a vertical shot the flash would cast a small shadow to my subject with the bracket the flash stays in the frontal position and ...no shadow!Good luck and happy shooting(the brkt as rec'd was fine tightening was for me personally)
