Rated 2 out of 5 by from Versatile but not very stable I bought this clamp hoping that I can use it in place of a bulky light stand during wedding receptions. However the weight alone of my Canon 580EX II makes it very unstable even when the adjustments are fully tightened. It works great for a couple shots here and there but I don't feel confident leaving it a substantial amount of time on its own.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very weak, looks nice but is not Several cons, is very weak to hold more than a Speedlite flash, you can't use it to hold a medium LCD light, or a flash with a small diffuser, but if you use it for a Speedlite with a trigger without a screw it will fall, like it happened to me, with a little touch my speedlite fell down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my use I bought it to hold my shutter release wireless receiver when I am unable to use on camera flash shoe because it is occupied with a flash or other device. It works perfect for that whether it is clamped to a round or flat surface. I do not know if I would trust the clamp part on a round surface to hold anything but a small flash unit. If mounted on a flat surface it might be ok for a larger flash. I would test it first before relying on it to hold a larger flash.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Unstable & Flimsy This product is flimsy and unstable. It wouldn't even hold up my Canon 430EX speedlite. The light kept flipping down no matter what angle I set or how I tightened the screws. It also kept sliding down the light stand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Solution for Light Loads This is a nice, flexible and inexpensive solution for separating a light load - such as a PocketWizard - from the hot shoe of a DSLR. I'm a sports photographer often besieged by chain link fences, so I often use these to raise my radio triggers above the fence line - while the camera stays safe underneath - to improve triggering performance. They work great in that capacity. Anything close to a direct-hit from a baseball will undoubtedly break this thing, but at this price point they can be expendable. A fine solution to what I was looking for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flash clamp Finally got a clamp to position flash off camera, the only way to go!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from If it sounds too good to be true... This is a very cheaply made device which should be used only with the lightest of flashes, and only in very calm environments. It's plastic, with some metal parts. The clamp is hard to adjust and has minimal strength. Not suitable for my 600EX-RT Canon flash. I can imagine this being OK in a studio environment, where the clamp is tightened once and never adjusted again. Otherwise, spend a few more bucks and get a well-made option (B&H has several).
