Vortex CF2-31037 overview

  • 1Description

The 1-4x24 Crossfire II Riflescope from Vortex Optics is a low-magnification zoom riflescope featuring fully multicoated optics, and a V-Brite crosshair reticle with illuminated center red dot on the Second Focal Plane (SFP). This zoom range gets you closer than with an unmagnified optic, while maintaining a wide field of view for faster target spotting, acquisition, and tracking. The V-Brite reticle looks like a standard crosshair, but in the center there is a battery-powered red dot for increased accuracy in low-light conditions. The scope has 1/2 MOA per click shot correction to get you on-target, and windage and elevation adjustment ranges of 100 MOA. The adjustment dials are designed to allow you to re-index the zero indicators after sighting-in the scope to more easily return to your zero position after making temporary corrections. The 30mm main-tube and aluminum body has a scratch-resistant matte-black anodized finish and is nitrogen-filled and o-ring sealed to be water and fogproof.

    Vortex CF2-31037 reviews

1-4x24 Crossfire II Riflescope (V-Brite Reticle) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 39.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact Size My first Vortex purchase and haven’t regretted it. Looked at it in store I purchased my first AR (300 BlkOut) and they highly recommended it for my gun. I wanted to do my homework first, so I read reviews, watched YouTube videos, asked friends, talked to other gun stores. Everyone I talked too said it was perfect for what I had planned for my first AR. So it was on order along with the Vortex 30mm cantilever mount. After a bore sighting, I hit the lock range. Probably the first underground 100 yard range, after 2 shots bulls eye. Vortex was part of many first for me, my first AR, first experience shooting in a underground 100 yard (tunnel) range with my Crossfire II.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Suited to the task, the Crossfire II delivers I purchased a Marlin 1895 SSBL to use as a guide gun. I needed something that would put down a bear, and be able to protect clients with. The .45-70 is perfect for close in bear stopping. The Vortex Crossfire II in 1-4x was the perfect mate for such a gun. Able to be dialed back to 1x for maximum field of view, and then up to 4x if a put down on a wounded bear was needed. The scope is amazingly clear in low light situations. The scope also seems to be impervious to the pounding delivered by the 420gr hardcast .45-70 rounds. My shoulder not so much. Paired with 30mm Vortex tactical rings it is rock solid, and I more than trust it out in the field. It was also important to me that the scope look right on such a gun, and it delivers in that regard as well. It was sighted in after 3 shots. What a relief that was. A recent highlight was scoring a hit on steel at 400 yards. A shot that would have been impossible with inferior glass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! The scope is great! For the price you can't beat the quality, and clarity. I'm very happy with my purchase. B&h was $$cheaper than all the other sights, plus free shipping. Combine that with the Vortex VIP waranty, and that makes for one happy customer

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just got my 1-4x24 Crossfire II Just received my 1-4x24 Crossfire II Riflescope (V-Brite Reticle) and got it mounted. Overall the scope is what I've come to expect from Vortex, even in a low cost price point scope. Have not made it to the range yet but anticipate no problems. I have several other Vortex scopes (Strikefire's and PST's) and have been very impressed with each of them. Boresighted with my laser and only needed to adjust altazimuth. Windage was right on center. Will know more once I get it to the range. Re-zeroing the dials is easy and only requires removing the caps then using a screw driver to take the dials off and resetting back to 0. Retical is clear and defined. Nice and bright Red dot right in the center of the crosshairs. Zoom to 4x is awesome. The only thing I wish was different was that there were an off between every brightness setting like on the PST. You have to dial it all the way back to 0 to turn it off (it goes to 11). Would have given it a 5-star had this been a feature. Vortex scores another winner and thanks B&H for a great price on this new scope.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Deal I've had one on my AR for about a year now my gun doesn't go in a case it's a beater not in terms of how it performs but of how she's treated stuffed under the seat thrown in the dirt I had the glass nearest your eye come loose they took care of it no problems and I know they will continue to keep their customers happy I'll forever be a vortex customer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value with bright, clear glass I purchased this scope to help me hit targets out to 200 yards, with my rifle. I have tried it on a 9mm carbine and a .22lr rifle so far and am very happy with the clarity of the scope. The finish of the barrel, turret caps, and adjustment knobs are superb. I cannot comment on how this might compare to the Vortex Viper PST, as this optic will never see harsh service conditions, but the clarity of the glass appears equivalent. My only complaint is regarding the brightness of the red dot. It is my understanding that the red dot on this type of scope is not necessarily intended as a replacement for a 1x red dot, however there are few problems with the brightness settings. Settings 1-3 are truly not usable as the dot cannot be seen unless it is completely pitch black. Additionally, the brightest setting (11) is only adequately bright in daylight. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase as well as the pricing from B&H.
