Avantone Pro ABBEY-M Overview

The cream version of the Avantone Pro Abbey 3-Way Active Studio Monitor (Single) is designed for professional mixing and mastering applications. The monitor features a custom designed Air Motion Transformer that is sensitive to 94 dB per watt for the treble, a custom 6.5" mid woofer housed within a sealed box inside the cabinet for the mid range, and dual 6.5" custom subwoofers in a symmetrical inverse phase locked push/push side loaded configuration. Both subwoofers pull in and push out in unison to effectively double the amount of air moved and raise the overall output level.

The cabinet design further contributes to the sound of the monitor by incorporating a slanted front panel to reduce first incidental cabinet diffraction in the highly directional treble range as well as a front firing bass reflex port to lower the frequency response. A 24 dB per octave Linkwitz-Riley crossover is implemented at 2500 Hz between treble and mid and at 120 Hz between mid and bass frequencies. The overall frequency response of the three way system is from 28 to 35,000 Hz, making an additional subwoofer unnecessary for all but the most bass heavy styles of music production.

Slanted Cabinet
Reduces baffle diffraction in highly directional treble range
Midbass Box
Features sealed 6.5" midbass box within larger cabinet assembly
Inverse Phase Locked Push/Push Subwoofers
Doubles air being pushed and pulled to increase overall SPL
Air Motion Transformer
Provides treble response using proprietary Avantone Pro design
Bass Reflex Port
Lowers bass frequency extension
