The 7' Parabolic Umbrella Diffuser from Impact is a translucent light modifier that fits over the Parabolic Umbrella and converts it to a large softbox with just a 1/2 stop loss of output. The resulting soft, flattering quality of light is well-suited to portraiture, group shots or any subject that requires open shadows and low contrast. The diffuser is designed to fit the Impact 7' silver, white and translucent versions of the umbrella (Impact UP-7S, UP-7WB, UP-7T). It can also be used with most other brand 7' parabolic umbrellas (e.g. Westcott, Photoflex, etc.).

I had been using my parabolic umbrella without this diffusion, however I recently did a session that I wanted the lighting to be a tad softer. So decided I should at least have this in my tool bag for those session where I need to have softer light. While I haven't used yet for a client session, I did set it up upon receiving it to check out and love the light quality it gives.

Is this half stop diffusion enough to eliminate any hot spots from a silver umbrella? Has anyone used 2 diffusers stacked together?

Using two 7' Parabolic Umbrella Diffusers, will only affect the diffusion and the softness of your light. To avoid hot spots, try adjusting the position and the distance of your light source to your subject.

Attach over outer rim of opened umbrella ( diffuser has sewn in elastic ) and then insert umbrella rod into flash head and feed diffusion screen opening over head and tighten cord.

Will this work on a S Type Bowen bracket? I will be using a speedlite being held by the S-Type bracket.

The Impact 7' Parabolic Umbrella Diffuser can fit onto the S2 bracket. But that umbrella being so large will over time tilt the bracket and it will not stay in position.

Can you use this with the godox 4 head speedlight adapter? The opening looks like it might be too small?

It’ll work fine...the heads will just sit inside the diffusion fabric. You would tighten the opening over the mounting collar...the strobe heads would all be covered
