    Raya EFS-24 reviews

    Raya EFS-24 Easy Fold Softbox Set (24 x 24") is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 84.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product and affordable I needed another softbox and I was looking for affordable options to use with the bolt vb-22 and speedlights. I discovered this softbox and decided to try it out. I was amazed at how compact it is folded. The quality is superior to the more expensive option. Raya's bracket is metal vs plastic of the competitor. Now for quality in diffusion. I metered the flash with the sekonic light meter for accuracy purposes. The results are expected. The diffusion is 99% the same Between the Raya and the competitor I highly recommended and I bought a total of 3.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BANG FOR THE BUCK!!! This is apparently very similar or identical to other products from other makers but at a much better price point! Good at full price and a great deal when on sale or discounted!! Assembles easily, is sturdy, and gets the job done. Be smart with your expectations though! Don't blame this prduct if you put it on a weak stand or a weak strobe! This is a great addition to any lighting setup. I use it with an SB-800 for portraits in a small home studio setup with no issues! Putting it away can be challenging; folding the softbox is not intuitive. It has a wire frame so try not to damage it while trying to fold it into it's case!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from DON'T PLAN ON FOLDING THIS BACK UP This was my first soft box purchase for speed light, I popped it open, it looks great, but then when I tried to get it back down, it is impossible. All the Youtube reviews on this gave it a thumbs up, but I should have figured it out when none of the reviews actually showed them trying to fold it back up. I tried and now it's bent beyond repair, looks like an elephant sat on it. I'd probably buy another one with just the intent of keeping it in the studio, not to be folded up again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes, there is a free lunch! If you use speedlights this is the best $ you will ever spend! There are no faults with this box. Design, materials, ergonomics, storage, I could go on, are all five stars. I dont know why the 30 inch version is more than twice as expensive, but even so I'm going to order one and still be amazed at the value! One plus not mentioned anywhere that I have read: The mounting hardware also doubles as an umbtella bracket with adjustable tilt. You would spend at least $20 for that item alone. Do not pass this up!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect I bought and returned several speedlite softboxes before this one because they all had problems. And they were all more expensive. This is the most solidly-built piece of inexpensive gear I now own. Everything about this this, the foldability, portability, and especially the flash bracket, are top notch. Go for it. Good stuff. My one concern: the whole bracket assembly attaches to the softbox with... friction. Four pieces of very thick and tight fabric hold it on. It's hard to put together, but once together, it doesn't appear there will be any issues. Unless... over time the fabric were to stretch and leave everything loose. That's all I'm worried about, but I'm choosing to be optimistic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Raya EFS-24 softbox I just love the Raya EFS 24x24 softbox! Not only is it a great speedlight light difusser BUT very portable and easy to use! I love this product. I own a softbox and its cool but the RAYA is for very prtable and I dont need a BIG strobe light to carry around.Instead all I need is a speeedlight and my new RAYA softbox and I'm of to great flash photography! The only small,VER small gripe I have is trying to fold the RAYA softbox back to it folding position. I took alittle time but I've mastered it! GO OUT AND GET ONE or TWO!! I'm getting a second to go along with my second speedlight. SWEEET

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good buy for the price! I use this for my outdoor and shoots I need to travel with. I purchased the same size from Lastolite a few years prior. It became all bent from how it collapsed down. It became a leaning square and looked awkward. Mind you, the Lastolite is far more expensive than this one. This one really impressed me. It's durable and even folds down even more compact than the Lastolite much like a reflector does. I would buy this again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great softbox - no need to keep searching! Summary: this is a great, believe the reviews, don't waste more time reading 10,000 reviews on 50 different products. I got this box because my partner wasn't sure he could make an event (and we always use his). And besides, we all know you just look more professional if you crank out a softbox. But despite pretty complimentary reviews, I still was paranoid. Mind you, I haven't had the product long enough to allay every fear that someone might have, but I am at ease with my concerns of build quality, set-up and breakdown. BUILD QUALITY: metal bracket is great, it's not going to be a point of failure. Adjustable shoe mount, adjustable height, everything is top-quality. Fabric is strong, seams are sturdy, this thing is tough. SET-UP: It's really a breeze. I did actually look at the instructions for one connection of the bracket (well, I guess it is the ONLY connection to actually assemble it) as well as seeing how the bracket and softbox mated, and everything was very clear. Just takes a few minutes. They do kinda warn you about opening up the thing, telling you to hold it away from you, and I would echo that advice - the thing is spring loaded and could probably give you a black eye if you held it up to your face while opening. I was stunned for a few moments after it opened since a)it was just kinda a wow moment that this thing actually started out as a pretty small series of intertwined circles and b)I quickly realized that people weren't joking about never being able to get it back into the bag again. It ends up being 4 rounded, connected triangles, and I determined that storing it as such wouldn't be a bad option should it not ever get back to its original shipped size. This leads us to... BREAKDOWN: It actually does go back down pretty easily, especially if you remove the baffling. I chose not to do so (just to see if I could get away with being lazy) and was still able to get it to fit back into the small, round zippered bag that goes inside of the larger rectangular bag. The bags are nice, the bigger rectangular one seeming to be slightly thicker. Just read the instructions once and you can get it back down to the original small circular size. IT'S REALLY NOT THAT HARD. I was (and am) totally impressed enough with the thing to give it 5 stars without thinking twice. There is nothing worthy of taking even part of a star away from this softbox in my opinion, and I don't just go around rating things 5-stars. It just is a good enough product that I felt like I owed it to someone else to rate it and give my experience. It was great in use as well, used it today and it did not in any way interfere with my lighting system (use Nikon system with on-camera commander flash). I have another softbox (larger) for a hot light, and I had to get help setting it up (came with zero instructions) and was complicated enough for me to decide to never use it again until I had a place I could keep it permanently set up. Not with this one. Set up and break down with no fear, use with no fear.
