Vello CB-415 Overview

  • 1Description
  • 24.1"-Wide Bracket
  • 3Machined Aluminum Alloy
  • 4Accessory Shoe and 1/4"-20 Socket Mounts
  • 5Locking Pin

The Vello V-Rig 4.1" Triple Shoe Bracket mounts onto a camera's accessory shoe in order to provide three additional accessory shoes for mounting lights, monitors, microphones, or other accessories. In addition to the shoe mount, a 1/4"-20 thread is also available for attaching the bracket to a tripod, rig, or other bracket featuring a 1/4"-20-threaded mount.

The bracket is constructed from rigid, yet lightweight single-piece aluminum alloy, and the mounting shoes are machined out of the same piece as the bracket, for additional strength. The accessory shoes also feature backstops for greater security when attaching accessories. The bottom shoe that attaches to the camera features a locking pin, which keeps the shoe in place and prevents the shoe from rotating during use.

4.1"-Wide Bracket

This V-Bracket's width spans 4.1" and has a tiered design for mounting up to three additional accessories.

Machined Aluminum Alloy

The bracket is machined out of a single piece of aluminum alloy, which provides greater strength to the three shoes.

Accessory Shoe and 1/4"-20 Socket Mounts

The bracket can attach directly to a camera via the accessory shoe or, additionally, it features a 1/4"-20 socket for attaching to threaded mounts such as a tripod.

Locking Pin

The bottom shoe that mounts on to the camera features a locking pin, which prevents the bracket from rotating.

Will this work with a Sony RX-100 VII AND a Rode ...

Will this work with a Sony RX-100 VII AND a Rode VideoMic Pro (since the RX-100 Vii does not have a shoe)?
Asked by: joseph
I don't think I can answer your question. I have an SONY FDR-AX700. It does have a hot shoe. My microphone is a SONY XLR-A1M which requires a hot shoe. To achieve the configurations I need I purchased a VELLO VB-1000 ActionPan that has a shoe on top. I can add The VELLO V-Rig if I need more branches on my tree.

question

How high are the two mounts from the standard center cold shoe? I need to raise a mic so the windscreen is out of the frame.
Asked by: Davin E.
Hi,The tallest one is about 80 mm (3,15 inch) and the lower is about 47 mm (1,85 inch) measured from the bottom of the cold shoe to the bottom of the shoes on each arm.I use a wide angle converter and an old Sony microphone that is not too long and that works fine. As long as you don't use a shotgun microphone it will probably stay out of the frame, but try so simulate it before deciding..!Kindly

Will this fit an Auray DUSM-1 in the middle coldshoe?
Asked by: Tony
Yes the Auray shock mount will fit in the middle, but other items may or may not fit the Vello Shoe Bracket at the same time.

question

Will this fit my FDR AX100 Sony?
Asked by: Michael M.
I believe so, yes. Note that your camera's shoe mount is a hot shoe mount, able to power accessories like a viewfinder, flash, or microphone. The V-Rig 4.1 Triple Shoe Bracket will support external accessories PHYSICALLY, but will not conduct a signal from your camera to the accessories. This bracket would be a good solution for you if you need to mount things like lights or wireless microphones that have their own power source, but NOT for anything that requires a hot shoe mount.

question

Will this work in conjunction with my Yongnuo YN622C-TX Wireless flash controller? In other words can I mount this along with my canon 430 EXII strobe?
Asked by: Paul
No, that will not work. That bracket is a cold shoe adapter. And the controller to work needs to be attached to the camera via its hotshoe.
