Far more than a mere monopod, the SteddiePod Hand-Held Camera Stabilizer/Support from Barber Tech provides thirteen standard stabilizer/support functions from one device, and as it does not use a gimbal or support vest it features a very short learning curve. It consists of a basic fluid head, a center column, and a set of articulating legs. The center column mounts to the legs using a 3/8"-16 threaded mounting bolt, and the head mounts to the columns 3/8"-16 threaded mounting stud. You can combine the head, center column and legs together, or mount the head directly to the legs to get your camera almost to ground level.
The included basic head features variable fluid drag and locking of both the pan and tilt axes by the same lever, increasing the fluid drag until it locks the head. The head includes a sliding camera plate that provides two inches of balance adjustment forward to back with an integrated safety catch. Built into the head is an adjustable "Dutch" plate that allows you to Dutch the head up to 90°. The SteddiePod comes with a soft-sided padded case for storage and transport.

Barber Tech SteddiePod Overview
Built-In Dutch Plate
The built-in Dutch plate allows you up to 90° of Dutch to one side. This allows you to use the SteddiePod straight out and dutch the plate so the camera is level, and then you can extend it so you can shoot around corners without exposing your body to potentially dangerous situations.
Shoulder Rig
Mounting the head directly to the removable legs, and extending one leg back to rest on your shoulder positions the other two legs to act as hand-grips, converting the rig into a shoulder rig.
Monopod
You can use the head mounted to the center column as a monopod, or mount the legs to the bottom of the center column for increased stability.
High Hat / Low Hat / Baby Legs
The Detachable legs feature three sections, providing you with two stages of extensions, and three locking positions that allow you to spread the legs from nearly horizontal, to nearly vertical, and halfway between without needing a spreader. Mounting the head directly to the legs does not interfere with these positions, and allows you to go from low hat to high hat to baby legs.
Flexibility
The head, center column, and legs all use 3/8"-16 mounting, which allows you to mix and match the components as your shot may require. It also makes it very quick to change configurations.
