Rane EXP3x Overview

The EXP3x from Rane is a zone output expander and DSP module for the HAL1x. The eight analog outputs and two Remote Audio Device (RAD) ports offer a total of four-inputs and twelve-outputs that connect via the HAL1x's expansion bus.

The dedicated DSP for each of the eight analog outputs offers two signal processing choices independently selectable per output. The Zone Output processing set features output compression, five-band parametric EQ with high & low-cut filters, a two level paging and emergency paging system, and background music. The Line Output processing set offers compression and parametric EQ without the zone processing and paging blocks.


Additionally, the two RAD ports accept input from any Digital Remotes (DR) modules further expanding user control options. Up to 32 EXP3x expanders may be daisy-chained to a single HAL1x, adding 256 analog audio outputs, 64 RAD ports, 192 DR ports, and 256 logic outputs. The EXP3x ships with a standard IEC power cable.

Note: The EXP3x requires a HAL1x to operate.
