Does it have Automatic aperture modes so it will work on a Leica m6? I know it has a manual mode, but often nikon flashes have a good aperture mode to control the flash when working with leicas.Thanks
The Nissin i40 has an auto mode. If you set the Leica to manual exposure this flash will sync with your camera and adjust the output based on your distance to the subject.

If I buy 2 of these, one for Nikon and one for Olympus M43, will the one respond to the other in master/slave mode?
Yes they can, but at least one of them needs to be on the camera.

For use with Nikon remote CLS, it looks as though there are settings to choose between Group A, B and C. Is this correct? Is there also a Channel setting available? Also, is there a PC socket? Also, is there a shoe locking pin as on Nikon brand speed lights? Thanks.
Yes, you can choose between Group A, B, and C on the Nissin i40, with four channels available. There is no PC socket or shoe locking pin.

Are these units, the i40 and i400 for Nikon, pre-updated to firmware version 18-11 so they are compatible with z6/z7/z50 Out of the box? (I don't want to send in an unit to nissin just to get it updated)
Hello Cristian,
That is a good question, and a difficult one to answer. We (ExpoImaging) have been the Nissin distributor in the U.S. since June 2019, and we update the firmware of every flash we ship to our customers, including B&H.
You cannot identify which version of the firmware is installed on a flash without powering up the flash, but if B&H purchased the flash from ExpoImaging then you could identify the firmware with the flash's purchase date (from ExpoImaging) and serial number.
Nissin i400. Nissin released firmware version 2.0 (0102) for the i400 on July 10, 2019. This update added compatibility for the Nikon Z6/Z7. Any i400 purchased prior to July 10, 2019 would need its firmware updated to be compatible with the Z6/Z7.
Nissin i40. Nissin released firmware version 18.11 for the i40 on Dec 19, 2018. This update added compatibility for the Nikon Z6/Z7.
Any i400 purchased from the distributor prior to Dec 19, 2018 would need its firmware updated to be compatible with the Z6/Z7.

Hello,I bought last week the new i40 for my Nikon D3300.I installed new batteries and shot only 1 photo.Then the pilot button started blinking red for 2-3 min, then all time red color.The video LED is working normally.Only the flash is NOT working.How can you help me?
I haven't had any problems with the i40 on my D600. The flash may be defected.
