The Milty Zerostat Anti-Static Gun is designed to remove dust particles by reducing static charge from electronics surfaces in electronics labs and from CDs and vinyl records to lessen crackling during playback. The device utilizes two piezo-electric crystals that are compressed by squeezing a hand trigger.

The compression of the piezo-electric crystals generates a positive stream of ions that attracts the dust off the surface of the record and leaves the surface with a negative charge. Releasing the trigger releases a negative stream of ions and leaves the surface with a positive charge. The unit is made of durable plastic, requires no batteries or refills, and does not contain any radioactive elements.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does it work? Maybe I used a Zerostat back in the 1970s when I worked at a recording studio. I wasn't convinced it worked then. Recently I decided to listen to every LP I own. Even though they were all really well kept, many had a lot of static that I couldn't get rid of with cleaners and brushes. So I bought this new Zerostat. I thought I was taking a chance, but I convinced myself to buy it because it's also supposedly good to remove static dust from negatives, etc. Does it work? I'll give it a qualified maybe. It certainly didn't totally solve my LP static problem. Did it help a little? Possibly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it's supposed to do. While it's somewhat expensive, it does what It's supposed to do. Neutralizes static that's built up on vinyl records acetate masters also, phono cartridges and audio connections including patch cables. If you're working in an environment where static can build up heated, carpeted area, etc. this will do the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does it eliminating static on film to be scanned? I will buy it if it eliminates static on camera film before it is scanned. Has anyone used Aerostat 3 Anti-Static Gun for this purpose? Please respond with a report if you have.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from uhhmmm its working ! I guess, can't really hear the difference. I think most of the noise from the TT is the embedded dirt on the record itself.
