The GT1532 Mountaineer Series 1 Carbon Fiber Tripod from Gitzo features Carbon eXact tubing, which includes High Modulus carbon fiber in the lower leg sections, adding to their diameters and making the tripod more rigid and stronger than its predecessor. The GT1532 has a load capacity of 44.1 lb, extends to a maximum height of 62.2", and folds down to 24.4" for transport.
The center column on the tripod can be removed for Ground Level Set, which enables the tripod to reach its lowest height of 6.7". Its three-section legs are secured with twist locks that incorporate G-lock Ultra, which has an internal O-ring to prevent dust and particles from entering the leg system. The top spider has been redesigned to add rigidity and large leg angle selectors give you more area to grip when readjusting leg angles. A ballast hook on the center column allows you to add weight to increase the tripod's stability.

I haven't used it much just yet. It does well with my Wimberly head.
Light weight and sturdy.

Light weight and sturdy. The leg sections move smoothly and lock in place with out much effort applied to the twist locks. It is very nice just like the other Gitzo tripod I own.

question
Once the center column is removed can I install the Gitzo G-2020 ballast hook in its place?
We are not sure what you are asking. If the column is removed, there is no place to attach the head, let alone a ballast hook. So that we may best assist you, please email us at [email protected].

question
Does this (or any of the Gitzo's) have a bubble level built in? It's hard to tell from the picture.
Mine does not have a built-in level of any kind. I bought it in Dec 2017, and I'm guessing they have not added one since then.
