Gitzo Mountaineer GT3532 Overview

The GT3532 Mountaineer Series 3 Carbon Fiber Tripod from Gitzo features Carbon eXact tubing, which includes High Modulus carbon fiber in the lower leg sections, adding to their diameters and making the tripod more rigid and stronger than its predecessor. The GT3532 has a load capacity of 55 lb, extends to a maximum height of 63.4", and folds down to 25.2" for transport.

The center column on the tripod can be removed for Ground Level Set, which enables the tripod to reach its lowest height of 6.3". Its three-section legs are secured with twist locks that incorporate G-lock Ultra, which has an internal O-ring to prevent dust and particles from entering the leg system. The top spider has been redesigned to add rigidity, and large leg angle selectors give you more area to grip when readjusting leg angles. A ballast hook on the center column allows you to add weight to increase the tripod's stability.

Gitzo Mountaineer GT3532 Reviews

Great tripod!

I bought this Gitzo to replace my thirty year old solid Bogen 3036. The Gitzo is everything I was looking for. It set up very easily and it is over spec for my current cameras and lenses but I don't believe I will ever out grow its capability. I know it is less expensive to purchase top quality and only buy it once in the long run. I highly recommend this tripod. B&H service was excellent. It came securely packaged and it was delivered as promised. Years of my experience with B&H leaves me with absolute trust in their honesty.

Best tripod I have ever owned

Bought this because my Manfrotto broke beyond repair. The Gitzo is light even with my Really Right Stuff BH55 ball head. Sturdy and easy to use, this tripod is the one to get if you want a great tripod.

question

How tall is the GT3532 with the center column not extended? How easily is the column removed to use the tripod without it?What is the maximum height with the column removed?Does this tripod have non-rotating legs?
Asked by: Anonymous
The tripod extended without the column extended is 52.4 inches. And it is about the same with the column taken off.Taking the column out on this model is very easy. This is a new design; a single simple unlocking ring under the column's upper disc frees the column while keeping the upper disc solidly in place on the tripod.

Can this tripod hold a 75mm video bowl?

Can this tripod hold a 75mm video bowl?
Asked by: Richard
We're afraid not. For Gitzo tripods that can be adapter to use a 75mm Ball Tripod you need to look at the Systematic Series 3, such as B&H # GIGT3543LSUS, with the adapter that is B&H # GIGS3321V75. Tripod - https://bhpho.to/2xTeoSZ 75mm Adapter - https://bhpho.to/2G78CBq

question

Has anyone compared the Mountaineer 3 series to the Systematic 3 series? Is the Mountaineer more stable, less? Assuming column at bottom...
Asked by: Leck
We suggest that rather than which tripod is better than another, consider what is the principal use you need the tripod for. Gitzo has three groups of tripods. Systematic is the flag bearer, the best and most stable they make. Traveler is made for just that, traveling. It for the hiker, the airplane rider who needs excellence in a small, light package. Mountaineer is for those who need a compromise between the two. Very stable yet as light as possible. It is their most popular group. All are stable with the bigger, heavier ones more so. All are light and compact considering what they do with the smallest, lightest one more so. And every one famous Gitzo quality.Which group fits your needs?

question

Hi all, I am looking for a decent tripod with a good ball head, I wanted to know what is the difference between gt3532 and gk3532
Asked by: Waqas A.
The Gitzo GT3532 has no ball head included. Just a flat mounting disc for any brand of tripod head. The GK3532 has a Gitzo ball head attached to the GT3532 tripod. Either way, you get the world's best tripod. It will last a lifetime with reasonable care. Money well spent.
