The Magnus VC-20-SE Zoom Controller for Canon & Fujinon ENG Kit with ENG to Sony EX Adapter from B&H provides record and zoom control for all Canon and Fujinon ENG lenses, as well as Sony EX camcorders. The VC-20-SE Zoom Controller features an integrated, 31" long, 8-pin ENG cable that connects directly into a Canon or Fujinon ENG lens The controller can be used with Sony EX camcorders via the included Magnus 16" 8-Pin ENG to Sony EX Adapter Cable.

A built-in mounting clamp allows attachment to a pan handle so you can zoom and pan with one hand and achieve a fluid look. The clamp opens up to 1.25" and also fits jibs, tubes, pipes, and bars. Zoom is regulated by a pressure-sensitive rocker switch that produces faster or slower control depending on how hard or gentle you press it. For tape-based cameras, a REC/RET button works together with a REC/RET switch to let you return to the last record position.

Video Zoom Control For Sony EX/8-Pin ENG is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems to be the same as a Libec ZC-9EX I use this with the Sony PMW-200 and PXW-X200. I bought this when the Libec ZC-9EX was out-of-stock. As far as I can tell, this is the same as the Libec ZC-9EX with minor, cosmetic differences. Previously, I have used the VariZoom VZ-Rock-EX. I was disappointed by the VariZoom VZ-Rock-EX because the point where the wire comes out of the zoom controller (not the end which attaches to the camera) seems too weak and loose. In fact, when the VariZoom unit was new the wire already seemed like it was working itself loose. By contrast, the wire of the Magnus Video Zoom Control is thick and sturdy, especially at the point where the wire connects to the zoom controller. This zoom controller has a selection switch on the side to use it with Canon or Fujinon ENG lenses. The included instructions said to switch it to C (Canon) when using it with the AC-ESX adapter cable (which was included so that I could use this to my PMW-200 and PXW-X200 cameras). I found this instruction to be incorrect. When I plugged the cable into the camcorder with the switch on C the camera lens zoomed out all the way and I even heard a bad noise, as if the lens servo was straining to try to zoom out even more. I was afraid I was going to damage the lens if I let it go on for even one more second. So I turned off the camera and switched the zoom controller to F. Then it worked perfectly with my Sony camcorders. (Since these camcorders have built-in Fujinon lenses, I thought F should have been the correct position anyway, although the written instructions said otherwise. I have covered the C/F switch with a piece of black tape so that I'll never fiddle with the setting again.) The Magnus VC-20-SEK is mostly plastic but it feels solid enough. It should last well as long as you don't leave it attached to your tripod when you're tossing the tripod into a bag and/or transporting it. Fortunately, removing the Magnus controller from the tripod handle is quick and simple, just as attaching it is quick and simple. Treat it with proper care between set-ups and it should hold up nicely.
