The TruArc 3 Global Compass from Brunton is a compact globally balanced compass with a 2° resolution and that is waterproof to 300' deep. This compass also features both metric and imperial scales for making measurements up to 2" or 50 mm. Additionally, it has tool-free declination of ±180°.

Good size and lanyard for wearing around neck. Doesnt settle quickly on true north and may not settle on true north at all. I would be uncomfortable if this was my only compass on any kind of a trip. Purchased two, one works better than the other. Not worth more than the amount paid.
I bought this as a gift to a Boy Scout who had made Tenderfoot. As such I wanted a functional compass with declination adjustment. The Brunton TruArc 3 was the least expensive compass with this feature. Once I figured out how to adjust the declination it was off to the races. I do wish the map guidlines were easier to see - getting this compass to orient to the map is difficult. It is a stout little compass though and I anticipate years of use by my scout.
