After reading the reviews, there seems to be a warping issue. Has that been corrected?

Not on mine, they seem to warp up on the ends so they spin/slide on the scanner glass a little too well. But if you can hold the one edge in place, they do a great job holding the negatives. My scanner is an old HP ScanJet G4050, so I can get 3 of these trays in one scan without issues (I was hoping for 4, but that darn rounded front edge messes that up).

Yes, so long as you leave the same gap at the bottom of the glass as the Epson holders does for other size film.

Yes you could however please remember that it is a negative and that you still need to use software to invert from Negative to Positive state.
