The AC3004A-R2 HD View Multimedia (VGA/Audio/Serial) over CATx Extender Remote Unit by Black Box is designed to receive video, mono audio, and serial signals from an HD View 1 to 16 port local transmitter unit (not included) located up to 1000' away and connected to a multimedia content source. Resolution goes up to 1080p HDTV or 1920x1440, depending on the length of the CATx (CAT5 or higher) cable used to connect the remote receiver unit to the local transmitter unit.
By using HD View 8-port line splitters (AC3002A, not included), the HD View system can be configured to distribute content from a single source to up to 256 remote units (each with a monitor), in real-time. HD View supports RS-232 point-to-point serial communication (including TX, RX, CTS, and RTS) for the extension of serial devices as well as for player to screen command and information transfer. All handshake lines are supported, which provides compatibility with all serial devices. The HD View system enables an administrator to remotely turn the distributed screens on and off and monitor them either individually or as a group. DDC (Display Data Channel) is supported.
