The ACU2201A-R2 ServSwitch KVM (Dual-VGA/PS/2) over 2 CATx Single-Access Extender Kit by Black Box, comprised of a local transmitter unit and a remote receiver unit, extends 2 VGA video signals and enables you to place 2 VGA monitors, a PS/2 keyboard, and a PS/2 mouse up to 984.2' from your PC's CPU, using 2 CATx cables (CAT5 or higher). The ACU2201A-R2 extender supports video resolutions of up to 1600 x 1200 at 656.2' and 1280 x 1024 at 984.3' and features skew compensation. The local unit is connected directly to a PC's CPU using the included extension cable, and one or two monitors, a keyboard & a mouse are connected to the remote unit. All KVM signals are fully buffered to ensure consistent remote operation of your PC.
The remote unit's deskewing technology removes color drift by delaying some color signals to compensate for differences in wire pairs. Skew compensation works with all colors transmitted, resulting in a maximum compensation of 42ns, which is sufficient for most applications. Independent low-frequency and high-frequency equalization adjustment enables you to fine-tune the video to match your cable type. Video tuning and configuration can be done by entering simple commands on the keyboard attached to the remote unit. Preset modes help you find the right image balance, and the "quick skew" feature facilitates fast video tuning. All settings can be stored in EEPROM memory.
The ACU2201A-R2 dual-video extender supports multivideo graphics card systems and enables you to set up a multimedia presentation for more than one user. Because the extender performs complete PS/2 keyboard and mouse emulation, you can boot the PC without having a keyboard or mouse attached to it. The extender is compatible with Microsoft IntelliMouse and other wheel mice. The extender requires no software. The remote unit draws its power from the included external supply, and the local unit is powered either by the connection from the CPU's keyboard port, or by an external power supply (not included).
