The AVFoundry VirtualForge Software Pattern Generator (Download) from SpectraCal is a Mac-compatible application designed to work with the optional CalMAN calibration software to calibrate TV monitors that are driven via a video output device from a Mac workstation. It supports select AJA and Blackmagic Design output devices and is controlled by CalMAN to produce bit-accurate test patterns at any required triplet value for accurate grayscale, CMS, or 3D LUT calibration. It provides a convenient alternative to hardware-based calibration and can be used for plasmas, OLEDs, projectors, and other TV monitors.

* DeckLink SDI support in CalMAN, for sourcing VirtualForge calibration signals, is limited to the default YCrCb 4:2:2 10-bit pixel format, which the DeckLink control app does not provide the option of changing. CalMAN does not support DeckLink HDMI outputs for sourcing.
