question

How does one remove the d5300 battery door to fit this in and where do you plug in the shutter cable?
Asked by: Michael M.
gently pull on battery door and it will separate from the camera body, you can store the battery cover door in the slot of the battery pack. The cable plugs into the battery grip and into the accessory plug on the camera. The instructions that comes with the battery grip explains this in detail.

question

Will this fit onto the D5500? I am aware that the cameras are slightly different in size, but I do see that the battery alignment is in the same direction.
Asked by: Timothy S.
I was just looking at a size comparison chart of the D5500 vs D5300. The 5500 is a little bit smaller. I can't say for sure but if I had to guess , I'd have to say no. Based on my experience, the battery grips are very size and shape specific.Hope that helps.
