Image Resolution
Captures 10MP still images and HD 1280 x 720 video clips with sound, thanks to the image sensor and built-in microphone.
Infrared Flash
The infrared LED flash features a range of over 70' at night, and is invisible for "Night Vision" that won't scare off wildlife.
PIR Motion Sensor
Motion-activated PIR (passive infrared) sensor features a detection range of 40-45' and a fast trigger speed of 0.7 sec. It detects the changes in temperature that occur when subjects move, and captures images in response. Benefit from a programmable picture/video delay of 5.0, 10, 20 or 30 sec, or 1, 5.0, 10, 30 or 60 min.
Time-Lapse Shooting
Captures images at pre-set intervals of 5.0, 10, 15 or 30 sec, or 1.0, 2.0 or 5.0 min, enabling you to see change over time. Time-lapse mode allows the camera to capture time-lapse images during daytime. Time-lapse Plus mode does the same thing, but also activates the motion sensor during both day and night, ensuring that you don't miss any game activity. Time-lapse duration can also be set, in order to control the number of hours per day the camera spends in time-lapse mode. You can set duration to all day (sunrise to sunset) or select 2.0, 3.0 or 4.0 hr after sunrise and another 2.0, 3.0 or 4.0 hr prior to sunset. The camera learns the length of a day and consistently adjusts the 2.0, 3.0 or 4.0 hr duration automatically.
Multi-Shot Mode
Set the camera to capture 1-8 shots in quick succession when triggered. If you select 4-shot standard, the camera will take 4 pictures spaced 3 sec apart. Rapid Fire mode allows for even faster shots, taking 2-4 exposures spaced only 0.3 sec apart.
Video
HD 1280 x 720 or 640 x 480 videos can be captured in the following clip lengths: 5.0, 10, 20 or 30 sec, or 1.0 or 2.0 min. To conserve battery power, nighttime videos are limited to a maximum length of 10 sec.
Display
Camera has a 2" color TFT LCD screen that displays images for in-camera playback as well as camera operation mode, number of photos or videos taken, number of photos or videos that can be captured with the SD card, camera delay countdown, and battery life percentage. The camera modes that can be displayed include trail (still photos), video, Time-lapse and Time-lapse Plus. Additionally, you can add a custom name to your camera.
Information Bar
Displays time, date, temperature in °F or °C, moon phase and camera ID. By showing the phase of the moon, the camera allows you to see which animals are inactive during a full or nearly-full moon--when the brighter lighting conditions will make them more visible to predators. Moon phase also helps you determine if brighter or darker backgrounds in your images are due to the fullness of the moon. The information bar can be turned on or off.
Motion Test
Helps you aim the camera at your target area. When motion is detected in this area, a red LED on the front of the camera will flash.
Connectivity
Equipped with a TV Out connector for viewing images on a television screen and a USB port for file transfer to a computer (USB cable sold separately).
Power
Runs on 8 AA alkaline or lithium batteries, which are available separately, and is configured with a 12V external power jack for an optional external battery. There is a convenient "battery eject" button in the top corner.
Mounting
Configured with a standard 1/4"-20 tripod mount. Additionally, a supplied nylon strap with a length of 6.0' and a width of 1.0" threads through the mounting loops at the rear of the camera to enable you to attach the camera to a tree. The optional Browning Trail Camera Tree Mount has a locking gimbal that lets you position your camera at the optimal angle.
Security
Features a hole for an optional padlock. At the rear of the camera are built-in security cable loops, ideal for a locking steel cable or 5/16" Python cable lock (not included). A steel security box can also be purchased separately.
Bundled Software
The included Buck Watch Timelapse Viewer Software CD-ROM allows you to play back your time-lapse video files on a computer running the Windows XP, Vista or 7 operating system. See an entire day's worth of images in only a few minutes, or view each image one-by-one. For a quick look at long video files, you can use the Activity Search function to allow the software to skip frames with no game activity and stop only on frames where game or movement is present. Rewind, pause, play, zoom in and zoom out controls are at your fingertips, and you can also save and share still images or export video clips. When a software upgrade is available, it will be posted on the manufacturer's website, along with detailed instructions for downloading. If the CD is ever lost or missing, you can download a free copy of the software from the same website.
