Fujifilm X-T1 reviews

Long Eye Cup for X-T1 Digital Camera is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 84.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Design may not satisfy completely I find this eye-cup better than the one supplied, but it does not shield enough light from the viewfinder. The older round and large Nikon-style eye-cups were far better. Beware these eye-cups slide on, then snap with two tabs around the bottom of the viewfinder frame. To get them off, without breaking anything, one needs to bend the lower edge with the tabs outward and up. Almost wrecked the rubber the first time until I realized they hold on differently than the original. The rubber/silicone is also a dust magnet, but I clean them with a little dish soap once in a while. I probably would buy some aftermarket round one next time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nothing special but gets the job done I've had this eyepiece for 3 days now, since i got it and it does help a little with light leaking into the viewfinder, so it does what it's suppossed to. The only cons i could find are that the eyepiece, since it's rubber, a lot of dust, flint, etc. gets stuck into it making it seem dirty. Also, i don't know if this is just my case but i find it hard to take off or put on, the back of the eyepiece feels a little smaller that the base of the viewfinder, thus i have to push a little hard to take it off or put it on, be careful with it or you might break it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Excellent Eye Coverage But A Lint Magnet The size and shape of this eye cup is much better at blocking light and allowing your eye to comfortably fit to the camera. From that perspective the eye cup is excellent. That said, the soft plastic material Fuji used is a nightmare when it comes to attracting dust and lint. I find myself wiping it all the time and unsuccessfully so. The plastic is sticky enough that a cloth or rag won't do it. The only way to get the dust and lint off of it is to run it under water. A real pain in the butt.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for blocking ambient light I replaced the stock eye cup on my Fuji X-T1 with this long eye cup. The original eye cup wasn't bad, but I found that when shooting with bright light sources from the side, it was difficult to see the EVF clearly. The long eye cup is more ideal for me, but I don't think it's quite perfect. While it has solved my problem, it is not the most comfortable - it is made of a stiff rubber, and the top part of the eye cup protrudes quite a lot more than the lower. If the rubber was softer, or if the top ridge could depress inward to conform better to my face, this would be a 5. However, I will say that in the middle of a shoot, I don't notice these issues. If you wear glasses, I think you would be better off sticking with the original eye cup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long Eye Cup, best solution for X-T1 EVF and glare If you use the Fuji X-T1, you may find that when you use the EVF, you have problems with light glare coming in from the left side. This can make obtaining good focus and composition hard. This Fuji Long eye cup, fits easily. Just remove the eye cup that came with the camera, and slide on the Long eye cup. Now when you press your eye up to the EVF, you will have no extranious light coming into play. I also were glasses in the field so the Long eye cup is very important since you can press your eye as close to the opening. Overall, this makes the use the EVF in bright outdoor light much easier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job intended. I just bought a Fuji X-T1, and the supplied eye cup is not large enough to keep stray light out of the EVF< not that I actually know if this is bad. It also protects my glasses when using the EVF, which I do always. It is soft, comfortable and totally unnoticeable in use. It is much easier to install than the Nikon eye pieces I used before.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have item for the Fujifilm X-T1 The old one slides up and the new one slide down and you are ready to take pictures with zero light leak. Should have been with the original, but at a price that doesn't hurt, at all. Not sure why you wouldn't want one if you use the viewfinder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must buy this eye cup is a must buy specially if you wear glasses because it makes you feel free while looking down the viewfinder. It is easy to install.
