The Rokinon 12mm T2.2 Cine Lens for Sony E Mount is a wide-angle lens optimized for digital cinematography. The lens produces an image circle that will cover APS-C sized sensors or smaller. For use with a follow focus unit, the focus and aperture rings feature industry-standard 0.8 pitch gearing. The aperture ring is also de-clicked to allow for smooth iris pulls while shooting. Focus, aperture, and depth of field markings are on the side of the lens to aid focus pullers, who typically operates on the side of the camera.

With an angle of view of 98.9°, the lens is well-suited for shooting landscapes, architecture, and for use in tight interior locations. It's fast maximum aperture of T2.2 also makes the lens suitable for shooting low-light conditions. Three extra-low dispersion elements and two aspherical elements have been incorporated into the optical design to minimize chromatic aberrations and distortion in order to produce sharper images. Additionally, a Nano Coating System (NCS) has been applied to the lens elements in order to reduce surface reflections and prevent lens flare and ghosting for improved light transmission and more contrast-rich imagery. A bayonet-mount lens hood and lens pouch come included with the lens.

12mm T2.2 Cine Lens for Sony E Mount is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING cinema look! I bought this to use with my a6300 and wide open it is totally usable at 4k. I also really love the field of view of this lens, along with the amazing T/2.2 aperture. But what really surprised me most was the fantastic flare! You can see all the elements within the flare, and essentially it looks super super good. Way better than I thought. Coming from a sigma 10-20 f/4-5.6 this lens is so much incredibly better. The contrast is nicer, sharpness, aperture, and most impressively, the flare. Buy this lens. It's cheap and fantastic quality. You won't be disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic Little Lens! Recently purchased this lens for use on my Sony A6300, and am extremely pleased with it. Focus and aperature rings are smooth and precise, and despite manual focus it's very easy to focus - for both video an photography. My one complaint with the lens is slight vignetting on the outter corners. It's also extremely wide, which I love, but I am constantly checking my fingers to make sure they're not in in the foreground - happens surprisingly often. Not a huge program though, really, just a learning curve. The lens is also tiny, and fits on my also small a6300 like it was meant for it. Absolutely perfect for traveling / exploring / what-have-you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Lens For the Sony FS7! I've been using a Sony FS7 for a couple of months now, mainly doing narrative films. This is the least expensive of my lenses, but it's one of my favorites. You can get such a beautiful wide shot, and they look wonderful. Nice and sharp Certainly having it on a native E-Mount doesn't hurt either. It's such a small lens, great for run-and-gun. Every FS7 owner should have this lens in their arsenal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NICE ON A SONY FS7 I am using it with a Sony FS7, and I like it. If you have a FS7 you may be in the same boat as me and many others who just aren't sure what to do about lenses. The kit lens has a bunch of issue with a major one being it's just not wide enough. After the crop factor, the kit lens is 42mm, this lens cropped is 18mm and that works for me. The focus ring has a strong tension to it, but I wouldn't call it stiff. It moves smoothly both with my hand and with a cheap follow focus I have. I have seen reviews that claim the lens is kind of big. That may be true on a small camera like an A7, but on a FS7 it looks small. I did read a few reviews that questioning the durability of the construction, but I find it better than average. The hood is a little small. So, how does it look? Nice. This is only one of two lenses I have for the the newly purchased FS7. On the other hand, I do have an SLR and a DSLR with an assortment of lenses. Nothing spendy, but this lens stacks up quite well. Personally, I've never been into magnifying an image 10 fold to see if there are CAs or really looking for distortion, so if that is you, you may not agree. At this degree of wide, you have to expect a little distortion, especially at this price. I think you could pay a lot more and not be much happier- perhaps not happier at all. As weight goes for a video lens, it's not heavy to me, and it feels solid. I did some low light testing using it with the FS7, and I was duly impressed. My previous camera was a Sony HXR-NX5 which had a fixed Sony G lens 29.5mm - 590mm non-parfocal f1.6 at the wide end. The base ISO on the NX5 is about 800. On the FS7 it is 2000 and the FS7 has a bigger sensor and more. Bottom line, very nice. I'm not talking the type you see on youtube where it is downtown with street lights and a 1000 watts of neon on every building. I mean a couple of 100 watt bulbs lighting up a large exterior and the lens and sensor really having to work. At T2.2 it is very usable in low light with the FS7. I purchased a Sony 18-105mm lens when I bought this one, and I really must try it out more. The problem is, I am really liking this Rokinon 12mm so much I don't want to take it off. Wide is so nice to look at. I can't really think of any negative things to say. If someone pushed me to comment, I might say as I did before, that the lens hood appears a bit small. I was shooting across the plane of the sun a couple of times and was worried about flares. The footage turned out fine, and I can always use a matte box. Really, this isn't an issue, just something critical to say if I had to do so. I believe it's hard to go wrong at this price, and you can always return it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy To Work With I run this lens with my Sony FS100, and I've had a hard time taking it off of the camera. This isn't a mechanical issue, I just really like the image that comes out of it. I've had very minimal vignetting, and when it does catch a flare, it looks nice and organic, which really sets it apart from other lenses in the price bracket. I'm a little bit concerned about the build quality in some places, as there's a lot of plastic on this lens, but I'm sure that as long as I leave the UV filter on, there won't be any major issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quite good! I was very surprised at the quality of this lens. I needed a manual Focus lens and I comoareitho to my Sony 11 to 18 and it was every bit as sharp and faster. The focus is smooth and image shift is minamal for video.
