Dana Dolly Hi Hat Universal Kit
Key Features
  • Removable Mitchell Plate Hi Hat
  • Mitchell Plate to 100mm Bowl Adapter
  • Anti-Tip Brackets
  • Soft Polyurethane Track Wheels
Working with a hi hat designed to quickly convert to a camera dolly is different than trying to mount a generic hi hat to a dolly, and Dana Dolly takes advantage of this with its flexible Hi Hat Universal Kit. The high hat and its base are made from machined 6061 aluminum so it is lightweight, yet strong and sturdy, with black type 3 anodizing for superior wear and corrosion resistance, and includes a Mitchell plate to 100mm bowl adapter. However, what makes this kit so flexible is that the hi hat base features three 1/4"-20 through holes that allow you to secure it to the slider adapter plate using three thumbscrews instead of using sand bags or drywall screws. The slider adapter plate is mounted on sixteen of Dana Dolly's machined urethane wheels, which allow the hi hat to ride on straight or curved track, support 100 pounds of weight and resist flat spotting.

Is there a version of this with a flight case?
Asked by: Will
We think you are thinking of these dollies. However, in order for them to fit in a reasonable case, they do not incorporate a high hat. https://bhpho.to/2kitBVS

What type and size of pipe "track" should be used?
Asked by: Ben
The Dana Dolly Hi Hat Universal Kit (B&H# DADDHHUK1) may be used with pipe that is 1.5 to 1.9 inches (3.8 to 4.8 cm) in diameter. Schedule 60 steel pipe is enough for most uses, but if you will be using an especially heavy load then schedule 80 could be used.

Asked by: brian
For a low angle, you would want to use a shorter stand, such as a set of Avenger Combo Steel Stand 10s: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/611470-REG/Avenger_A1010CS_A1010CS_Ultra_Low_Boy.html/specs

How do you under sling this Dana?
Asked by: Nicholas
You can put the Dana Dolly Hi Hat Universal Kit in an underslung position by first removing the low hat by unscrewing the thumb screws from the sled, flipping the low hat, and then securing the low hat by screwing into the 4 countersunk mounting points.
