Lectrosonics LR Overview

From Manufacturer

The L Series LR Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver from Lectrosonics is a digital hybrid ultra-compact portable wireless bodypack receiver with 75 MHz tuning bandwidth and with tracking front-end filters. When paired with a transmitter and microphone it can be used to capture audio in environments for applications such as broadcast TV, video production, ENG field work, and more.

The LR has several other features to help provide good clear audio, such as compatibility modes to allow the receiver to operate with older analog receivers. Dual antenna diversity helps to improve range and resistance to dropouts. There is also a built-in RF spectrum analyzer and SmartTune scan, which make finding a clean frequency on-site quick and easy.

In addition, the LR receiver is enclosed in machined-aluminum housing and built with detachable antennas that allow for remote antenna mounting. LCD and membrane switch interfaces provide clear information for setup and status monitoring. This transmitter operates in the A1 frequency band between 470.100 to 537.575 MHz.

Beware if you're using this with power adapter and Venice via an A-Box, there's been a few cameras fried with this combination. it's a mystery which equipment is a fault.

Lectrosonics makes great practical gear for on location work and this unit is nothing but great, using it as a single channel unit with the WM tx block 21. Using it for over the shoulder bag recording and as a on camera single channel receiver. Easy to use and works great.

This wireless receiver can be connected to an input of the Zoom F8N digital recorder, but it does require to be paired with the L Series LT Bodypack Wireless Transmitter (A1: 470 to 537 MHz), BH #LELTA1.

Is this compatible with the HMa plug on? I notice a lot of guys are still using the 411a receiver. Is there a big difference?
Asked by: Tyler
Yes, the LR receiver is compatible with the HMa plug-on transmitter. B&H # LEHMAA1 is the version for this particular receiver's frequency band (A1: 470 to 537 MHz). There are some differences in features between the two receivers such as a wider 75 MHz tuning bandwidth for the LR vs a 25.6 MHz tuning bandwidth for the 411a.

That is not what I am looking for. I am looking for something like a BEC-500 but one that will work for my LR-B1.
