Raya SDR-400 Overview

With 400Ws of power backed with solid control and convenience features such as wireless triggering, the SDR-400 Alpha Monolight from Raya is a wise choice for studio and location photographers alike.

The SDR-400's power is variable from 1/32 to full in 1/10 stop increments over a 6-stop range. The 150W modeling light can be set to proportional to visually match the selected power level for easy pre-visualization of your photo. The modeling light can be turned off completely or set to Independent to input any user-selected light level. The lamp can also be set to dim upon triggering and power up when the flash head is fully recycled.

Recycling time is a fast 0.2-2.2 sec @ 120 VAC and faster at 220-240 VAC with an action-stopping flash duration of 1/1000 sec and a color temperature of 5600K that varies only ±100K regardless of power settings. The SDR-400 has multiple triggering options including a traditional sync cord and an optical slave but it also has a built-in radio receiver that can be triggered at distances up to 65' by the included 4-Channel transmitter. Settings include sync delay, red-eye reduction and synchronous triggering.

Other features include fan-cooling using auto temperature control to lengthen the life of the flash tube and modeling lamp and protect the unit's electronics, as well as fused circuit protection. The rubberized high strength polymer housing has a S-type mount to take advantage of the wide range if accessories made available by Raya, Impact and other brands that use this mount. The SDR-400 comes with a 7" umbrella/grid reflector, power cord, sync cord, protective cap, 115V modeling lamp and user-replaceable flash tube. Swap the modeling lamp out for a 220V type when used overseas.

Precision Light Adjustments
The SDR-400 monolight's flashtube has a 6-stop power range, represented by a 10-60 numbered scale on the LED screen. You can subtly increase the power of the light in 0.1 increments with a push of a button
Wireless Triggering
The SDR-400 has an integrated 4-channel wireless receiver. Using the included transmitter, you can wirelessly trigger your flash unit from up to 65' away. Line-of-sight positioning is not required for your monolight to communicate with the transmitter
Proportional and Independent Modeling Lamp Control
This flash unit has a 150W, 2-mode, user-replaceable modeling light. Proportional mode keeps the bulb's power output proportional to the flashtube's power level. Independent mode allows you to set your own custom modeling light output level
Built-In IR Slave and Pre-Flash Modes
The Raya SDR-400 Alpha Monolight has five slave settings, ranging from an optical slave mode to modes that will trigger the unit with external flashes with up to three pre-flashes. Select your desired mode with the clearly marked digital control panel
Soft Start Circuitry (SSC)
The built-in Soft Start Circuitry (SSC) ensures longer modeling lamp life. When the modeling lamp is turned on, it will light up at the minimum brightness and gradually climb to the full power output
User-Replaceable Bulbs and Fuses
Both the flashtube and modeling light of the SDR-400 are user-replaceable. Additionally, the fuse compartment is removable for easy fuse replacement
Sleek, Durable, and Easily Transported
Built with high-quality rubberized polymer, the durable SDR-400 is lightweight and compact, making it easy to transport. A protective cap is provided for the flash tube and modeling lamp
