The 45° angled viewing MeoPro 20-60x80 HD Spotting Scope from Meopta combines a powerful 20-60x eyepiece, extra-low dispersion fluoride glass lenses, and a suite of optical coatings to make this spotter optimized for long distance and low-light performance.

Its wide magnification range allows you scan wide swaths of the landscape for subjects on low power with the ability to quickly zoom in and make detailed observations and identification. A large 80mm objective lens is engineered for maximum light-gathering ability with complementary fully multi-coated lenses to maximize light transmission, enhance image contrast, and improve clarity and resolution. Exposed lens surfaces are also protected from scratches and abrasions and the buildup of water and other contaminants that can interfere with clear views.

Durable construction details and a user-friendly design match the optical performance of the MeoPro 80 spotting scope. The Centric-Drive focus wheel is oversized and textured for nonslip focusing in the rain or when wearing gloves. The objective housing is nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to deliver fog and waterproof imaging in freezing temperatures and high humidity. For added protection, the chassis is made of a lightweight and strong magnesium alloy to provide a shock-resistant foundation for the optical system. A retractable aluminum sunshade, long 18.5mm eye relief, and rotating/locking tripod collar make the MeoPro HD 80 a full-featured spotting scope for a wide range of outdoor activities.

Optical Performance
  • Powerful zoom eyepiece offers a wide 20-60x magnification range that enables the user to scan wide areas of the terrain for subjects with the ability to zoom in for detailed observation and identification
  • Large 80mm objective lens draws in the light required to ensure subjects remain bright and clear, especially when viewing at extreme distances at maximum magnification or in low and challenging light conditions
  • Eyepiece is integrated into the optical system so fewer lens elements are required for improved brightness
  • Extra-low dispersion fluoride glass corrects color fringing and other chromatic aberrations to ensure accurate colors
  • Ion-assisted MeoBright multi-coatings maximize light transmission to deliver enhanced low-light performance while suppressing reflection and glare
  • MeoShield coatings protect external lens surfaces and resist scratching and abrasion
  • Hydrophobic MeoDrop coatings repel water, grease, skin oils, and lens surface contaminants that can impair view clarity
  • 108-foot field of view at 1000 yards on 20x, 66-foot on 60x
Use and Handling
  • Eyepiece is set at a 45° angle to the optical tube for a more comfortable viewing position whether user is standing, sitting, or lying prone
  • Centric-Drive focus system features an oversized mid-body focus control with a large rubberized wheel that is easy to manipulate even when wearing thick gloves
  • Multi-position twist-up eyecup for comfortable use with or without eyewear
  • Extra-long 18.5mm exit pupil helps to reduce eyestrain to make viewing more comfortable
  • Wide 4mm exit pupil on 20x will cover most pupils as they open in low-light conditions
Construction Details
  • Lightweight and strong magnesium alloy chassis
  • Armored rubber body protects optics from impacts while offering a positive grip during setup and breakdown
  • Nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging in extreme conditions and temperatures
  • 360° rotating and locking tripod collar enables precise eyepiece placement based on viewing position or personal preference and comfort
  • Standard 1/4"-20 thread on foot for mounting on most photo/video/field tripods and heads, compatible with select Manfrotto quick release heads
  • Retractable sunshade improves contrast and clarity on bright and sunny days while minimizing the threat of lens flare

Meopta MeoPro Reviews

High quality and clarity

Since I was new to Meopta, I was a bit apprehensive about its performance capabilities. But the specs don't lie and I feel that I got more for the money. Once on A tripod, I was at max magnification on a deer at over 1000 meters. I could count each point on it's antlers. Any negative reviews is really hard to believe after using it myself.

Excellent Glass!

After extensive research, I settled on this spotting scope. In its class, for a mid-tier spotting scope, it is head and shoulders above the rest. I bought this for wildlife viewing in the national parks and I am so glad that I bought this one! The glass is excellent with edge to edge clarity. The center focus ring on the body has just the right resistance and I found it to be very smooth, contrary to some other reviews. It comes with a great limited lifetime warranty. B&H includes a great (and free) carbon-fiber tripod for it for the same price ($1,389) that Amazon offers for just the scope without the tripod. I was also very happy with the tripod which is branded Meopta but i think is probably made by Manfrotto. The tripod head exchange directions are a bit vqgue. To take off the ball-head and put the fluid head on, just twist off the ball-head counter-clockwise , turn it upside down and use the smaller allen wrench (included) to insert in the headless screw on the bottom-end of the ball-head to separate the top from the bottom . You can then mount the appropriate end onto the tripod center rod and then attach the fluid head. I lost 2 hours of my life that I'll never get back figuring that out. Aside from that B & H offers a great deal for a quality scope. I highly recommend this spotting scope-buy it you'll like it1

IT REALLY ROCKS!

This is every bit of the quality spotting scope that I was expecting after reading numerous professional reviews. I took my scope out today for the first time after first spending way too much time trying to figure out the vague directions on how to change out the ball head to the panning (fluid) head that came with the tripod. Unlike some buyer reviews, I was amazed at this scope's performance after looking at pelicans resting on pilings at 300 yards away, boaters across the bay through the range of magnifications then I looked at the the fine details of houses about 2.5 miles away on the shore of Pensacola Bay. I spent a lot of time researching mid-tier scopes that sport quality optics. This is it. I found the focus ring that some reviewers had issues with, to be smooth with just the right resistance one would expect from a quality optic. I bought this scope primarily for wildlife viewing in the national parks and this scope does not disappoint. This was a great value coupled with the free carbon fiber tripod which I think is probably made by Manfrotto for Meopta. I do wish Meopta would refine their instruction manual that came with the tripod to explain how exactly you change out the ball head with the panning head that came with it. For those who have the same struggle with that, you have to first twist off the ball head counter clockwise as per the instructions. (They basically leave you hanging at that point.) You then have to turn the ball head upside down and use the smaller allen wrench that came with the accessories for the tripod and unscrew the headless screw on the bottom to separate the bottom part of the ball head. You will then use the appropriate part from that separation to attach to the top of the center post that will accept the fluid head. Good luck! As a parting note, I've done business before with B&H and I've always been happy. Thank you B&H for another great value!

Amazingly clear view even at 60X. Focus ring is solid and easy to access and turn. Overall this scope is perfect for range and field! Very happy with my purchase!

Side by side this scope was no clearer or brighter than my 20 year old, low end Nikon. B and H was great about the return.

This spotting scope is off the chart !

Have Five of the Meopta rifle scopes and have never been disappointed. This scope is a little heavy but the quality is from back to front, the resolution is something you would expect from a much more expensive scope. you defiantly get you moneys worth.

You will need (2) items to mount a Canon mirrorless camera on to the Meopta MeoPro 20-60x80 HD Spotting Scope (Angled Viewing) BH #MESSMHD80 • MFR #598880 The Novagrade T-Mount Digiscoping Adapter BH #NOUA00T101 • MFR #UA-00T1-01 to mount on your scope and a T-ring to mount on your camera body. question

Does this scope have a compatible digiscoping adapter for DLSR or compact cameras?
Asked by: Anonymous
I recently bought this scope and I've only had out a few times but have been impressed so far. The only adapter I've used is for using my iPhone 6s for taking some videos and pics. I suspect there are adapters for DLSR or other compact cameras. Sorry probably not much help.
