Icy Dock FLEX-FIT Trio Reviews
A nice and flexible 3-1/2 to 5-1/4 adapter
This is a sort of swiss army knife of adapters. It has various ways of just snapping in some standard form-factor 3-1/2 inch devices. For me, I needed it to hold a 3-1/2 bay SD card reader. It's a bit of an odd-ball form factor, but I was able to easily mount it in this adapter as the standard screw mounts aligned properly. The only minor detractor for some may be the fact that, vertically, the exposed face of the device is not centered. For me, it's a non-issue. I'm fussy but not that fussy. :) I would recommend this product and consider buying another when needed.
Does the job
Worked OK for what it is. Since the 2.5 drives clip in and are spring-loaded, no tools required, but then when you are pushing the cables you are loading the spring, so it feels less solid than if they were screwed in. Also, the mounting holes for the whole enclosure are plastic and there are not any screws that 'fit' per se, you just use whatever screws are close and drive them into the plastic holes. So commitment to the mounting location for this seems like a plus. Also, the 3.5 bay cover is not flush with the front, so if you're not using the 3.5 drive, you will have a quarter-inch indentation there. Not my favorite look here.
